Bonsai Kittens I just found a website call BonsaiKittens.com
The URL for this site is- here
The site teaches people how to create bonsai kittens, by stuffing them into small jars and injecting them with anesthetics. They also claim to sell ones that are pre-made. Any person could stumble across this site, including children, and decide that it sounds interesting enough to try. According to the site, the procedure does not hurt the animal, when in fact it is breaking the animals bones and deforming it.
I was outraged by this site. I couldn't imagine anyone doing such a thing. I decided to create a petition.
The petition can be found at- http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/465259383
Please sign the petition and help the website get shut down before innocent cats are killed. I need as many signatures as possible. Please help. -

Array Yes, it's definately an evil thing to do. We had a petition go around the school last year about it, I definately signed it. I hate sick people like that. Array Are you sure this site isn't a satire? I don't see why someone would actually do this, or find torturing small animals amusing. -

Array 30 seconds on google yields that it is in fact a joke. http://www.hsus.org/ace/14130 -

Array well if people are sick enough to do it to babies in the Vietnam war (no lie), kittens isn't entirely impossible. It being a hoax is a possibility though. Array It's a joke. Just as the baby tattoo site was a joke. Periodically people discover it and get outraged. "Arm yourself, Watson, there is an evil hand afoot ahead." -- Dennis Pierce, 2010 Bulwer-Lytton contest, detective fiction category runner-up. -

Array Chuckle.... thats funny in a sick-macabre-dead baby joke kinda way. What a crock. "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. And from this side only! The flight of a half-man, half-bird. Dinosaurs nuzzling their young in pastures where strip malls should be. Cookies on dowels. All those moment, lost in time. Gone, like eggs off a hooker's stomach. Time to die" -Phil Ken Sebben -

Array People do these sort of websites as part of getting their ecommerce bachelors degree usually. -
The site is a joke, but my point was that anyone could come across this site and try it. Not everyone knows it is a hoax. It needs to be shut down because it has a detailed description on how to create a bonsai kitten that anyone could try. Please sign the petition and help it get shut down. -

Array First Admendment rights do not provide instructions nor provisions for the stupid.
We can't shut down all sites, halt free speech just because someone stupid might try something. Sorry. It is sick and silly, but it gets to stay. (Not to mention that signing the "petition" or even going to the "petition" site probably sets you up for endless additions to mailing lists and annoying emails. And that would piss me off more than thinking that there are dulces trying to stuff cats into jars.)

Array Granted, there have been hoax sites for the babies, but I was in Barnes & Nobles yesterday and picked up a history book (I'm a history freak) and while I was flipping through it, I came across a page with pictured of babies in jars. I didn't get to ready the whole story, just that it was actually done in the Vietnam war. I could be wrong, maybe later in the article it says that it was a hoax just to throw people off, but what if it's not a hoax? "Wars may be fought with weapons, but they are won by men. It is the spirit of men who follow and of the man who leads that gains the victory." - George S. Patton -

Array Then it's not a particularly nice thing and if you were a prosocutor in the country in question, you could in all likly hood bring charges. However, in this fine country, people can say whatever they damn well please. Believe me, I would like to shut up people like Chick (evangelical *** who claims D&D is the tool of the devil), or *cough* Hadouken *cough* , but I know if I do, then someone who dosn't particulary like my opinions could do the same to me. Free speech is the worst system, except for all the others, just like democracy. The only way to atone for being occasionally a little over-dressed is by being always absolutely over-educated. -Oscar Wilde -

Array Freedom of Speech is definately miss used. People either take it for granted or use it against others as you said. Unfortunately, this is the world we live in. Array I dont understand those Evangelical folks that think AD&D is the devil, its a game for christ sake(although a very addictive one). My Vorpal sword +5 will set to rights those that think AD&D is unholy.. arghh! Boo thinks those bible-thumper nuts are just quacky.. dont you boo? "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Anyone who thinks that this is anything but a joke is just being really dim witted. -

Array I think you're wrong about the bones breaking, if I remember right kitten bones are like cartilage, they would tend to squeeze through the bottle rather than breaking.
Speaking of animal cruelty, anyone ever watch the video of the physics tests on terminal velocity where they were tossing cats off of buildings? As a former cat owner I thought that was way more shocking than this site, and it was real too. Array Haven't seen the video, nor do I condone such actions.
As a side note, however, I read in physics that a cat's chances of survival in a fall actually increase with altitude, up to about seven stories. I believe this information came from a combination of mathematical work and veterinary data from cats that fell accidentally. -

Array Whats true about cats is they have a low terminal velocity, they'll sort of flatten out a bit and catch the air. It was pretty freaky in the video, they looked sort of like a big kitty parachute after a point. Once they catch the wind and puff up proper they'll survive even if they fall off a skyscraper if they don't have a heart attack. If the fall is too low its like someone not opening their parachute in time. -

Array Man, I got sucked into this thing about 2 years ago, so don't feel bad about it. I felt like such a ******. But u get over it, and u see it again, you feel better that someone else got sucked into it too.
What about Vietnam and babys? They put them in bottles or something? "Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee."
