| Sounds awesome craig. I've been working on a long-lunge marching attack. I have the moves memorized, I just have to roll my opponent into starting to retreat, and then for them to start retreating faster. I'm thinking that I need to work more on my redoubles, its not easy in epee to launch a march.

| Beat you out of the way and then right to the wrist. The march in epee is better known by the title 'fencer on a skewer'. |

The question originally came up on the thread http://www.fencing101.com/vb/showthread.php?t=10844 . It seems possible, if impractical, to try for marches in epee. |

| marches in epee are possible, i've tried before (foil convert)
the person performing should be a level above the defender, though, to make them work successfully.
you can do a "march" against someone equal or higher level, though its more like a simple bait, because you need to be less wide open while waiving the blade around and more pressuring them to take a bait by walking them down the strip.
in any way shape or form, though, this kind of game is tough. epeeists tend to attack into things like this with second or third intention. you can't expect a simple parry riposte to come out of a march or pressured bait as i'm calling it as of right now |

| Yeah, Ive been working on it, and I'm starting to see some results. The hardest part for me is to get them into a continous retreat while my bladework is setting them up. Its getting better, but I need to fine tune it and work out the kinks, the worst part is when they do something that I had not expected and had not prepared for, things go down the crapper and it looks like a car wrek... light off for them. When it is successful, people say that its like a tidal wave, unstoppable, it just sweeps you away. I have yet to figure out how to roll a marching attack like people do in saber, and I'm not sure its possible in epee. Much experimentation needed.
