Bob Anderson Information?help! Can anyone help me find information/books on the above named sword master?
And if anyone can point me towards books about/ by sword masters who have worked in films, I'd be really grateful.
I am writing an essay on swords in film, and I need to have some information on the development of the trained screen fight!
Thought I'd check on here, since between you I bet you know much on this sort of thing. I am a fencer myself, but this is an area of knowledge I regrettably lack. Hence the essay!
If anyone knows of any good books of filmed fighting, please do let me know of them as well. I have Richard Cohen's wonderful book, which is a start. -

Array Pity my old master has retired - he was trained by Bob and knew many anecdotes.
I don't know if you can get it [I lost my copy of it] but he wrote an excellent book called "The complete Fencer". Get hold of the special edition of LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring and look around the extra's as there's some stuff about him there. Have you tried IMDB - I haven't but he may be covered there. Try Goodgle [you never know...]. Also, try and and get hold of an old BBC series from the 70's that he did it has lots of stuff abot various types of swordplay on it. I'm sorry I can''t give you the name of it but if you contact the BBC they may be able to help.
If I see Norrie [my old master - he was a classically trained proffesor BTW]. I'll see if I can get anything out fo him - don't hold out much hope though. Similar Threads -
