electric foil blade

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i'm trying to buy an electric foil(or two) for competitions. all these options out there and not being able to actually be at the vendor checking equipment in person, how do i go about choosing which weapon(s) to buy???
which electric foil blade is good both flexibel for flick and also stiff enough at same time

and what blade is the best for flicking or like how flexibel they should be?

You should check out this site's "Product Reviews" section. There's quite a few reviews for foil blades there. My favorite: Leon Paul's Flick Master.

I like the medium flex ones that blue gauntlet sells. They're cheap and have a nice feel but they tend to break pretty quick. Yesterday at a tourney I had my fourth one this season snap at the tang. I really don't think I've been that rough on them when balancing them either. I was trying to do a lunge, but as I was extending my blade and guard flew off, and the pommel nut and part of the tang fell through leaving me just holding the grip. I suppose I did do a nice explosive lunge in a way but I wasn't planning on it being my foil that exploded.

What do you mean by "rounded ones?" I've never seen anything but rectangular or square blades.

the blue gauntlet brand are rounded I believe. It all depends on how much money you want to spend. At mid level spending (around $70 wired) is the Vniti. These blades are very solid, and have a good flick that starts up near the tip. Nice blade, but maybe a little heavy. If you want to go one step up (around $110 wired) are BF's. These are great blades, I have 2 and love them to death. I buy from Blue-gauntlet and you can go to www.blue-gauntlet.com to look at their on-line catalog.
