lunging on TOP of my foils does it ever happen to you? do fencers just see your stuff in the way and go ahead and lunge and TOP of the blades? someone did this at the last tournament i went to and it really ticked me off has anyone done anything to your stuff while you were looking the ohter way? -

Array not really sure what you mean.
if you're talking during a bout, your opponant lunges and ends up trapping your blade under his foot, well good for him - that's a really safe way to score a touch, and hopefully you'll learn not to keep your blade down there anymore
If you're talking about people just walking around and stepping on your stuff, tell them in no uncertain terms that that behavior is going to stop. "Their interpretation is, however, refuted most elegantly by your system of radioactive atom + amplifier + charge of gun powder + cat in a box"

Array I think he means that his stuff was on the side of the strip and somebody decided to practice lunging and was stepping on his blades.
Two things here from my perspective, I would consider it rude if somebody was continuously stepping on my blades. However, I would make sure that my blades were as out of the way as possible to ensure they don't get stepped on; blades aren't easy to see unless you're looking for them.
So, assuming that my blades (foils) weren't perpendicular to my bag, or that my blades were alongside a strip during a bout, I would be a little miffed if somebody was practicing continuous lunges and stepping on them. I'd probably mention my dissatisfaction to them... "Since when does being a patriot in America mean shutting your mouth?"

the funny thing was that they were sitting at the end of the strip and i was actuallly holding on to them. I told him to stop, but when i looked back up to watch the bout that was going on he continued. and from seeing with with his dad earlier, i knew he was a spoiled brat and decided to just leave Similar Threads -
