in all seriousness, though, there is not, AFAIK, a unique meaning to the word relating to fencing. context please?

PK | I went looking and didn't find any association of fame with fencing - outside of epeemike81's suggestion of great renown. Lame - plenty. Fame - ? |

| Perhaps someone was making referance to the David Bowie song "Fame." I try to have a song in my head while fencing, helps with timing control. |

| Maybe it's Italian:
"Fame" means hunger...
That's my fencing problem, I'm hungry all the time (unfortunately, the hunger is for pizza and beer, not victories).

| Perhaps it has no meaning and he was just trying to confuse us all. It's a conspiracy man!

You win it and then go watch Star Wars II in theatre and think to yourself that you are even a match for Master Yoda!

| haha, Yoda's got nothing on me! He may be able to manipulate the force at will, but can correctly execute a double disengage beat fleche' to the non weapon shoulder? I think not!

| It's an acronym. Refers to a basic spectator tenet of the sport: "For Action, More Epee."
I thought everyone knew that. |

| The handout for the FOC Referee Course includes the word "fames". From context, it looks like somebody miscopied a hastily-written "parries".
