| The DNS entry is gone. The name registration expired on April 22nd.
Maybe the sellout rumors are true.

| I had not heard any sellout rumors. To PBT maybe? or some other group that will buy the name? If anyone has any thoughts I would be interested in hearing them...

| Why doesn't someone just try calling? We all know their webpage was really an afterthought anyway. |

I won't comment more on that since I didn't put enough stock in it to call Walter about it.

| I'm sorry. Yes, it was just that: a rumor that was floating around. I should have marked that as "irony".
I suspect the reality is that they have some technical difficulties and, since they were probably out of town for the Nationals/NAC in Atlanta, they haven't gotten around to fixing them.
However, it is dangerous to let your domain name registration expire these days.
Anyway, someone should call 'em.

| just to throw what i know out there:
yes there was at least one interested buyer. i've met the guy and his son. to make a long story short, though, they haven't put up the money and its been a while.
also, about domain name expiration:
most services now will retain your name for a year after expiration in order to prevent people from snatching it up and throwing, for example, a porn site or somesuch up there. thats just not happy for business.
p.s.:
Domain Name: TRIPLETTE.COM

| The TCA sale rumor was true. There was a group of three, two from Florida and one from Oregon. The initial bid was made in June 2003. In July 2003 after the USFA Nationals, TCA employees were informed that the business was being sold. Three employees were laid off at that time with the remaining staff told that new ownership would take over in early August and the business would moved to the Tampa, Florida area. In ealy August 2003 two members of the buyers group traveled to TCA and conducted an inventory. However, complications arose in pricing the inventory. The bid was dropped in late September 2003. Walter has his side of the story why and the group from Florida has theirs. There may have been two additional bids as well from others later.
If the business is still for sale I don't know. Probably if price was right. You would have to ask Mr. Triplette.
On a side note: Earlier this month a person on an SCA discussion forum made an inquiry searching for a web designer to build a commercial based website for SCA, theatrical and classical fencing equipment. It was for Walter Triplette |

| I was told that 2/3 of his business was sport fencing and 1/3 was SCA. Things must have chnaged since I last talked to him (Triplette). It appears that they changed quickly as well. |

| What I know of TCA TCA's name is getting worse and worse. I keep hearing about bad orders, internet down..... Equipement problems.
TCA has been a stable company in the fencing world for a long time. I hate to see it faulter so much.
As for rumors I have heard everything from bankrupcty to sell out. Who knows. FOr real answers I suggest a phone call to TCA to ask Walter.
I have noticed that they are getting a lot more SCA type gear and for a while I was getting a theatrical and a sport cataloge. I have not receive a cataloge from the in a long time so I don't know if they are still doing that. |

| You don't create confidence in your company when you allow your domain name registration to expire and then wait 5 days to re-register it. |

| hehe...
and I have no confidence in Microsoft to both give me a good product and one that works more than 50% of the time.
but that has absolutely nothing to do with their negligence in domain names registration. |
