Array The were not in Atlanta, Cleveland or Kansas City. And if you want to really know who they are catering to, just look at their two pricers... We get the news paper with cut jokes and the SCA guys get the nice catalog with a full glossy color front with gloss pages. Tells me the investment is in the SCA side. You invest where you make the most money so I guess the SCA is taking over Triplette for now...

You will not see the big T at any NAC in the future according to a former employee who was running the show before he was ask to leave and then to come back....not. It will supprise me if they even come to SN04.
The reason for the concentration in SCA is simple economics, fencers are basically cheap (sorry) and SCA people don't have any sense. Fencers will debate the finer points of who has the best price on the cheapest junk, while the blade slingers will pay hundreds of dollars for a piece of PK junk that some fat guy in a leather apron is sharping in a tent (with a fire in the back ground for effect.) M-O-N-E-Y that is why TCA is going SCA (hummm notice the simularity...) oxxx[[======================= \\Toll Free 866-SWORD4U Slay more with a Claymore -

Array I think its hard to turn out a non buggy product when every group in the world who might want to snoop on someone knows if they can get someone to slip in a backdoor into microsoft products they'll be able to get into like 90% of the pc's in the world. Originally Posted by Strytllr hehe...

but that has absolutely nothing to do with their negligence in domain names registration. -

M-O-N-E-Y that is why TCA is going SCA (hummm notice the simularity...) Triplette doesn't even travel to the local tournaments like they did just a year ago. This year they weren't at Virgina Tech, Charm City Classic, Sword in the Stone at South Carolina, neither one of the tournaments at Birmingham or Georgia Southern, the Crescent City Open in New Orleans. TCA didn't show for the SE Sectionals. I don't think they even went to the North Carolina Divisionals.
I think TCA may eventually go all SCA. Walter is developing a new website called "Zen Warrior Armory" for his SCA business. Two years ago he purchased 65 acres outside of Elkin for SCA events. He put in a new road, built a small masonary castle, and completely rebuilt an old farmhouse on the property. It was a sizable investment. They had an SCA event there two weeks ago. So it wouldn't be surprising if TCA wasn't at Nationals this year even though its in Charlotte. Then again they might show afterall. They might need the money -

It would have helped if we had had the Charm City Classic, of course. Don't let 'em drop it. Don'tlet'emdropit. Stop it... bebop it.

They might need the money they werent at SE sectionals cause they were at mid atlantic u-19 sectionals, which is where i was. they were there saturday but not sunday "When my time on earth is gone, and my activies here are passed. They might need the money Believe me, Nationals is really not a money maker for some, they are too busy giving equipment away. Every year for the past four that I know of, TCA has made a deals with clubs to take what they have left days before the tournament is over, at rediculously low prices. I don't really understand their logic in that. I know what it costs just to show up and stay there for the full time, believe me it aint cheap! oxxx[[======================= \\Toll Free 866-SWORD4U Slay more with a Claymore -

Which is why you probably won't see me at anything larger than a sectional event...I'll let the bug guys fight it out to make their $1000 (at a NAC) table fee...I'll stay with servicing the divisional, high school, and collegiate events that otherwise would never see a vendor of any level... -
one of the reasons why triplette is less than enthusiastic about sport fencing is the money, but from what i understand, he's also burnt out on the competition aspect of it. i believe he told me a story as to why, though the memory is hazy and i can't exactly recall if it was him that told it to me ( ) so i'm not going to relay it (sorry). lets just say he (i think) personally prefers the more relaxed, more friendly, less competition-oriented, sca environment for fencing. -

Array TCA is being sold I have it from a "friend" in the business, that TCA was on the market to be sold...in fact the story about the Florida investros was true. The deal fell through when old inventory was counted as being new and the price was upped for it. I heard that it was the same guy that got escorted from Nationals last year from Walter's booth that was making the bid. He was selling swords and stuff. Well, anyway, the deal fell through and now PBT is buying TCA since they want a domestic brand that they can play around with price wise since their own imported stuff basically has fixed prices and their profit margin was too low. d00d..that last touch was MINE! -

i'll have to ask zey about that. its not a bad idea, pbt and triplette aren't that far apart. moving locations wouldn't be too costly.
when i heard about people still interested in buying triplette, it was sometime in january, i think. i talked to them. they seemed interested still and talked as if they still intended on doing it.
thats all i know about the subject. Similar Threads -
