The Real World II

[Iwant2bafencer]

"Oh believe me, I don't want to sleep that way ever again. I feel like a stiff board every morning. Well when is your last class?" She asked, checking her watch.

[Darion McNair]

"Not for a few hours. Come on." he headed over in the direction of the dorm parking lot. "You're in luck, I just cleaned out my S-10 before I drove here."

Chelsea jumps up and jogs after him.

"Well, I feel special," She slowed her pace to walk next to him, "So where are we going?"

[Darion McNair]

"Wal-Mart is just down the street a few miles. It shouldn't take long." They got to his red pickup and he unlocked the door before pressing the automatic unlock button opening the other door. Chelsea climbed in.

"I hope you like P.O.D." he said, putting the keys and starting it up.

Cheslea furrowed her brow.

"I'm afraid you've caught me with my British nieivity towards American things. What's P.O.D.? And why on Earth is your steering wheel on the right side of the car?" She questioned, extremely confused as she pulled her seatbelt over her, clipping it in.

"Yeah, well we Armericans are weird like that, we drive on the wrong side of the road. And POD...." The aftermarket speakers and two 6x9's behind the seat kicked in and the heavy rocking sounds of Payable On Death filled the cab and everything within a 30 foot radius.

Two seconds later Josh turned it down. "Heh...sorry about that. Here, I'll turn it to the last song. Its an acoustic instrumental." Josh brought up the track and the more melodious, spanish sounding, guitars made him smile. They pulled out of campus property and merged with the traffic. "It's not too far."

Chelsea couldn't help but throw her head back and laugh. She turned a little in her seat to check out his speakers.
"Well you don't hold back when it comes to your music do you?" She grinned. Turning back around, she got comfortable in her seat and looked around as they drove.
"Alright, we've covered familes, where we live, hobbies, hmm what is your favorite movie?" She shrugged for lack of a better thing.

"My favorite movie? Well take your pick: Star Wars, Indiana Joes and the Temple of Doom, Pirates of the Caribbean, Princess Bride, the list goes on....You?"

"You have the Princess Bride over here? I love it. Most of the others a good too, especially Pirates. My favorite movie would have to be Somewhere in Time. I don't think you'd like it, it's definately a girl's movie." She paused and looked quizically out Josh's side window. "Didn't that say Wal-Mart?" She questioned as they continued to drive.

"Oh crap." Josh got in the far right lane, waiting to turn off so he could turn around. "Yeah I guess I was...distracted." He pulled back out this time on the other side of the street. "Okay, there it is." He pulled in the Wal-Mart parking lot and miraculously found a close parking space.

Chelsea grinned.
"Distractions can do that." She laughed as she hoped out of his truck.
They began walking towards the store when Chelsea gasped.
"Oh dear, my wallet is back at the dorms." She cringed. 'Great Chelsea, make him drive you out here and forget your money, real winner.' she thought to herself. She bit her lip and waited for Josh's reaction.

Josh waved it away. He had two twenties in his wallet and didn't mind spending some of it on her. "Don't worry about it, I've got plenty. Come on lets go find some sheets." They walked in the entrance and spotted an old lady with a blue vest on, holding a roll of stickers.

"Good evenin!" Josh said. The greeter looked a little taken aback but smiled and said hello in return. After tehy were out of earshot Josh turned to Chelsea as they walked. "I love greeting the greeter first. Seeing their reaction never gets old."

Chelsea laughed quietly.
"Josh, I don't want to make you pay for my sheet." She blushed. "How embarasing is that? New British girl can't even buy her own bed ware." Her cheeks turned a little darker red. She didn't tell him that she needed a pillow too.

Josh stopped dead in the aisle and turned to her. He looked her straight in the eye. "Chelsea I don't mind, really. In fact, I want to. . . . one thing you'll learn about Americans is that we're stubborn sometimes. Let me buy them, okay. Don't think anything of it. And if you ever need another set , I'll buy those too."

Chelsea blushed again and it was all she could do just to hold his gaze.
"Alright, but I'm paying you back. British are stubborn too." She grinned, pushing his arm gently. The walked quietly for a minute. "Uh Josh, would it be too much trouble if I got a pillow too?" She asked quietly. If her face could turn darker, it did.

"As you wish" was all he said.

Meanwhile, back at Addington Hall (nicknamed Add Hall by its residents), Ethan frowned at the copy machine in the basement. He was no grand master artist, but the flyers would do. They would get the point across--and, hey, if his neighbors were the type that liked to laugh, maybe they would live in infamy as a joke that was brought up on the occasion. He grabbed the sheaf from the output slot and headed for the stairs, taking them two a time until he reached the fifth floor. He made short work of shoving them under the doors on the floor.

"Party!! Friday Night! Ethan and Sean's Room! BYOR (Bring Your Own Refreshments!) Sean doesn't like to share. Hope to see you there!"

Underneath this was a caricature of stick figures dancing.

Ethan snickered to himself and headed back to his room, colliding head-on with somebody just hurrying up the stairs. Books and flyers went everywhere in a hailstorm of paper. "Oh--sorry--here, let me help you with that."

Not looking where she was going Sharline ran up the stairs. She really needed that shower and no one was usually up there at this time, she knew the way by the floor tiles. The last thing on her mind was someone comeing the opposite way. And that's when she ran into some one. This wasn't just anyone either, this was a someone bigger than she. Her books went flying as did she. He started appologizing and picking stuff up, with Sharline sitting on her rump wide eyed.

" I said sorry." he said when he handed her books and saw the look on her face. A blush as red as can be creeped over her face.

" I'm sorry!" She blurted as she grabbed her books, stood up, and handed him a handfull of his fliers. "I gotta go." She stamperred out. Brushing bits of her butchered hair out of her face she scrambled off to her room, nearly dropping her books again. She d being embarrassed, and falling on her butt, and recieving help from anyone would do that to her. But to top it all off, she'd just sat there not doing anything. I can't belive this! Why didn't I do something? This hasn't been a good day.

Left alone in the hall, Ethan shrugged and continued to pick up the flyers before Sean saw them.

Chelsea picked out a simple blue pair of sheets. She found a great down pillow that was on sale and tried to not make Josh buy it, but he insisted. Stuffing her pillow under one arm and her sheets under the other, the two final emerged from the sheet isle. Josh came out carrying a nice blue comforter.

"What you don't have any sheets either?" Chelsea questioned.

"Oh no I have sheets, it's for you. You can't just have a top sheet, there has to be a blanket." He grinned.

"Josh, you're already getting me sheets and a pillow, you don't have to . . ."

"Chels, I'm getting it." He cut in, giving her a sterm look. He then completely switched tracks. "So, what else do we need?" He asked cheerfully.

Chelsea shrugged. "I'm fine."

Josh said he didn't need anything and the headed off to check out. When they got to the front of the store Chelsea let out a low soft whistle. It seemed they had hit the store at the same time as half the town.

"Looks like we're in for a wait." Josh spoke up with a shrugg and headed for the shorter looking of the lines.

Chelsea followed and adjusted her load as they took up comfortable stances.

"Alright, I've picked the last two topics, it's your turn. Also, seeing as we might be here for a while make it an interesting one." She winked.
