| Of Dragons and War III "Aren't you the one who wanted me to be stronger with her in the first place?" Meekal asked, a little more than agitated. "How else was I supposed to handle the situation? She showed up, knowing full well that she was not supposed to tag along, endangering herself and the baby."

| Of Dragons and War III "Yes, be strong with her," Nękos replied. "But choose the right reasons. Order her to stay for the reasons you just told me...not because she is your wife and legally bound to obey your will. Remember, the person she fell in love with was not a king. Be careful how you turn into one, else you might lose that which is more precious even than a kingdom."

| "Well, it's too late now, unless she decides to follow again...which I doubt." Meekal heaved a signatory sigh & watched the road ahead again. "I hope she'll be all right."

| "She has guards, so she will be physically alright. As far as emotionally, I do not know what the full impact of your words may have been. Just remember that next time." Nękos looked over to him now. "The same applies when you command troops. You can order them to do anything you want, under threat of death. But if you wish them to truly fight for you, even die for you, then you must earn their respect and love."

| "Show yourself a warrior. Excel in what you do. Care about your men. Stand by your principles. Those are all things you must do...but to actually earn their respect; that is something intangible, something you must feel out for yourself."

| "And that," the Swordsman told him, "is exactly why you are with me now."

| "Well...good. I agree. And when this is over, I'll be a better man for it," stated Meekal, trying to convince himself of the same. They rode silently for a few minutes, his thoughts straying. "I wonder what Moon's doing right now..."

| Meanwhile, the entire group passed by a sign reading "Dead End" and looked at it for a moment, puzzled to find such a sign in the middle of what appeared to be empty woods. The staring prolonged itself at the sight of the four people standing in various states of intoxication around the sign. Crin and Falcour appeared moderately sober, but Ame and Talmour were giggling about something and poking each other in the sides as though everything was a very large joke.
Crin, meanwhile, was staring up at the sky in determination. Beside her, Falcour leaned against the signpost with his arms crossed, watching her. The members of the riding party slowed and a few glanced up to see what Crin was looking at.
"Took you long enough," Talmour slurred, climbing onto his horse. "Let's go find some dragons." Ame jumped up on Temper's back without a problem, despite her inebriation. Falcour mounted, and lastly Crin climbed onto Buttercup. "Well--what are we waiting for?"

| Rosaline had simply stopped when they caught up to the gypsies, she still stayed in the back and quietly waited. Talmour came back and offered her a big sloppy grin before he poked her in the side and he and Ami both imediately went into a bout of laughter.
Rose quirked a brow and then as the group started moving, edged Shadowmaker up front to ride next to Nękos. She knew it wasn't the best idea, but they'd have to talk sometime.
"Nękos, my father's house is a few hours away from here, perhaps that can be the place where we rest and water our horses." She stated.

| It only took one glance at the Swordsman before Alys decided she was more than happy to drop into the back of the group and mind her tongue. She tried not to giggle as she thought of all the possible things she might say or do, and how poorly certain people would react. "Be nice," she muttered to herself and turned Merlie.

| "If it lays on this road," he responded, "then very well. All the same, we must wait and see how far we have traveled and what time we get there. I will not stop if it is in the middle of the day."

| Rosaline bit her tongue for a moment, not wanting any more bitterness from him then she was already receiving.
"It's right along side the road. I'm not saying we have to stop there, just giving it as an option if we should need it." She replied as casually as possible.
She waited for a minute or two so as not to appear rude, before she moved Shadowmaker back a pace or two. She stretched in the saddle a bit and cracked her neck before she went back to watching the trees and their other suroundings.

| Zelda hadnt said much since they had resumed riding. She had lagged behind, thinking. Her relationship with Arcon had been falling apart for some time. She just hadnt wanted to acknowledge the fact. In fact almost since thier wedding day things had been going wrong.
There was always the rumour that she wasnt "pure" on her wedding night. She knew the truth, as did Arcon and it was something they never worried about....they thought then that love would conquer all. That they would be invinciable, the perfect ruling couple for the perfect kingdom.
It didnt happen. Slowly but surely Arcon started wandering. First he just looked, which she could handle, I mean as long as he didnt touch it was fine. Then slowly there were long nights when he came in late, or not at all, smelling of alcohol, or worse.
That was when they moved to seperate chambers. Zelda desperately still wanted to love him, but knew, in her heart of hearts, that it was over, and that it had been for a very long time. They stayed together for apperances sake, but lead very seperate lives. Arcon spent alot of time at the Bitter End, while she spent time getting to know her swords again.
Events over the past few year or so had thrown back together in many ways, but there was still that edgyness to their relationship. Now knowing what she knew, about Arcon, Moon and the baby, it made it harder.
Naekos was an ever present thought in her mind. His ethics and morals, while annoying her to the extereme when she wanted to just let loose and forget she was queen, were a constant source of strength to her. Knowing that there was someone who stood their ground, and didnt give in, who would help her through the hard bits meant alot. His advice was generally sound, and she knew, even though his contract was with Arcon that he would be there if she needed his support. Even if he didnt particularly want her on this trip, she was glad that he had given in. Getting away from Arconia seemed like a good idea. Naekos may say it was running away from the problem, but sometimes avoiding the truth was easier then dealing with it. Dealing with a husband who had wandering eyes, hands and other anatomical parts was difficult. Drawing the line and saying no more was harder still, especially when there was still a bit of her heart that loved him.
Zelda sigh, and rubbed her hand over Abercrombies neck. "Least I have you boy," she said in a whisper.

| Looking up ahead she saw Meekal talking to Naekos. He looked determined, but kind of lost. Remember he relationship she had had with Arcon when they first married, and the relationship she had now with Arcon, she was determined to see Moon and Meekal not go down the same path.
Urging Abercrombie forward she rode up next to the King of Muu and waiting. Finally he sensed her presence and turned to face her,
"Meekal, we need to talk..." she said.

| "All right," Meekal said slowly, unsure of her expression. He knew she had been very upset about the recent news, & he thought that she and his new wife had talked things out, but there was always a nagging concern when it came to upset women... "What would you like to discuss?"

| "The fact you are now the king of Muu, and how that effects your relationships." Zelda replied, Meekal nodded but looked confused.
"There are three big things you have to remember, 1. People will respect you a lot more if you show compassion, 2. NEVER let anything come between you and your partner and 3. stand up for what you believe in, not what people tell you to believe in."

| "That sounds a lot like what someone else told me," Meekal stated as he mulled over her words. Of course, he was determined to do things right, for the sake of his kingdom & Moon. "Uh, thank you."

| "You are welcome," Zelda replied. " I may not be the ruler of Arconia per se but I here to offer you advise if you need it". My door is always open."
