The "2004 Vancouver Epee World Cup Gran Prix" DVDs are now available.
There are 5 DVDs in toto. Each one is packed with close to 2 hours of solid fencing.
DVD 1 - Individual pools, DE 128, DE 64-1.
DVD 2 - Individual DE 64 reseeded, DE32. Total 2h04m.
DVD 3 - Indivdual DE 16 to Gala Finals with Cody Mattern coming 2nd.
DVD 4 - Teams - DE 16 to Semi Finals.
DVD 5 - Teams Final and Gala Finals. Time: 1H48m.
Sorry, I forgot to mark down the time for the DVDs that show no time, but rest assured that i crammed them full of epee fencing.
These are basically raw videos. I edited out as much of the non-fencing bits as much as possible.
There are no slo-mo replays, i figure you can do that with your DVD player.
There are no commentary.
Most of the time
you are there as i was standing almost behind the ref except in the gala finals. So once in a while, the ref did get in the way. Even in the gala finals I was no more than 15 feet away from the piste with an unobstructed view.
The videos were shot with a Canon GL-1 with 3CCD and Image Stabilisation.

The camera was on a tripod. It was moved only when the ref became stationary...
The DVD burner is a Panasonic DMRE50K. [Yes, it did cost me a bundle, though not as expensive as a Sony DVD-burner. i could have bought a new 800N suit plus blades.]
In other words, the quality of the video is excellent: digital DV tapes to digital DVDs. As to the quality of the fencing, well, that i have no control over.
I've put each of the DE bouts under different chapters. i'll include a synopsis with each DVD.
i know, i should put a promo video clip on the net... i'm working as fast as i can...and as i know how to.
