Ever have trouble with USFA? I FINALLY got my USFA card today. I started trying to get in in February. First, a certain party at my salle forgot to mail it.
Since then, I have been emailing USFA about the status of said card. They sent me a duplicate of my daughter's card.
Today I opened the envelope and found another card in my daughter's name with her birthday on it. I really don't think I will pass for 11. It also is red and says noncompetititve. YIKES! I know it's good for only a few more months now, but I do have a tourney coming up.
Fortunately they sent me a receipt I could copy from email. So, I guess I'll just take that to the meet.
Anybody else been here?

Something like that happened to me also... Don't worry, I think it's fairly normal (though annoying!!). The only problem I had with getting my card many months later than I ordered it, was when I was in a tournament, I was supposed to have a card. I didn't win though, so it didn't make a difference. Plus, they're volunteers!

Array They've been great with me the last 10 years or so; they *are* paid employees but if you've ever been to the office you know that it's a tiny little thing with a few people in it, and they have as much difficulty keeping an office manager (and other employees) as most of the businesses I know. I have had good results as long as I write clear letters (e-mail works well) giving the important details and not ranting, and if necessary following up with phone calls. -
I've tried the phone and email...They have been very nice each time and sound like they know what they are doing. I just needed to vent.

A few of our old members would get strange ratings on their cards, or USFA would fail to give them their correct rating(E). -

Array I never had any real problems with either Beth or Sarah, even when I was calling as a regular member, and not as a division officer. Keep in mind that Sarah's not actually a fencer (although I've told her she needs to get with the program .
I've found that if you;re polite and maybe crack a joke or two, it works wonders. I usuall get answers or corrections quickly from Sarah.

Array I once got my card 2 months after it expired. And I was paid up and competing all year! http://www.geocities.com/strydermike -

Array I'd rather they let us sign up online and skip mailing stuff in myself. Are they ever going to get that working?
