Quick tech question

I didn't find it mentioned on the board in my quick search, so here goes:

how long must an epee tip be dperessed (making contact) for a touch to register? How much tolerance is there on that number?

i.e. - I'm building my own epee buzz-box and I want to tweak it to be a tad long so I can train my flicks, and I'll be more certain they'll register properly.

thanks

The book (Appendix B) says 2 milliseconds. This is a really, really small amount of time, so I wouldn't worry about tweaking your buzzbox to throw out hits of 1 millisecond or less, because those are pretty darn unlikely.

Actually you should worry more about whether your epee tip will depress fully rather than the timing.
