What weapon do you fence? what are you looking for in a club? -
Baltimore area In there baltimore area there is BFC, SP, and CFC. I would reconmend BFC because thats where i fence, there is a strong foil/ epee crowd here. The webpage is at www.baltimorefencing.com. The maryland division at www.maryland-fencing.org. And if you have any question feel free to email me at hamley02@yahoo.com

Array baltimore is like an hour from me. BFC is a pretty decent club, fairly large for the area too. THey have about 6 or 7 strips and their head coach was on the chinese national team for epee awhile back. Basically your other choice would be DCFC which is kind of close to baltimore. I havn't been to their club but as far as their fencers go, they have some pretty good ones. "When my time on earth is gone, and my activies here are passed. I want they bury me upside-down, and my critics can kiss me @$$."

Array For the Dallas area check out www.fenceintexas.org.
i'mnt There never was a time, in my opinion, when some way could not be found to prevent the drawing of the sword.

Array In Dallas there is also the Dallas Fencers Club, www.dallasfencers.com which is my club and just outside of Dallas in a suburb called grapevine there is the Grapevine Fencing center, www.grapevinefencingcenter.com
The Fencing Institute of Texas is sort of geographically between these two clubs so no matter where in Dallas you end up there is a good club pretty close. -

Array If you were going to go to Texas do yourself a favor and either go to San Ann, CC, or Austin which is the center of the universe in case you had not heard. I have hated Dallas more every time I have went there and while there is a certain charm to some parts of the city the overall effect is not somewhere I would recommend that anyone relocate to. There are also some good fencing options in Austin and the surrounding areas.
As to Baltimore it is not as bad as Dallas is! The whole city smells kind of funny but you stop noticing that after a couple of hours. There is some great fencing in the area not just in MD but in the VA, DC and PA areas as well. I fence in Baltimore maybe 4 or 5 times a year at tourneys and everyone I have ever met up there has been really nice and they have some good fencers.
You will also be within a reasonable drive of DCFC which has some excellent (National points type) fencers and VAF which boasts to be the largest fencing school in the world (not saying its true mind you, but that is what they claim).
From what I know I think from a fencing perspective you would be much happier with life in Baltimore. If you want to go to Texas (and everyone really should at least for a visit) try Austin. Good luck! Just another lost soul saved by the (hit) First Church of EPEE!

Array Hpf The Plains Texas Dvision is a smaller Division but we have a few good clubs.. I'd check out High Plains Fencing if you are in the area. http://www.hpfencing.com/
The Plains Texas Division is in the panhandle area but it is NOT too far to drive for events if you are in the Dallas/Ft Worth area.

Array Baltimore Fencer's Club is nice. They have great facilities.
DCFC is a strong competitive club; we have nationally ranked fencers in all three weapons. Epee is the most competitive.
Baltimore is a little less than 4 hours away from NYC, so if you're interested in going to competitions over weekends, it's not too far out of reach. Don't let 'em drop it. Don'tlet'emdropit. Stop it... bebop it.
