Array Me, so I can increase funding for fencing! "In theory, theory and practice are the same, but in practice, theory and practice are different." -
Hi!
Well, with my near-dictatorial powers, I will start appointing people to fitting posts.
Inquartata has said that it is good if the president-elect is a person who has not shown any real interest in the position. With that in mind, I will appoint him to the posts of USA ambassador to UN, and vice versa. In the 1st post he gets to stay for long times in NY and Geneva, with lots of fencing close by. In the second post, he will have to go around all of USA and argue for the virtue of the UN to US. citizens - and debate seems to be a favorite of his.
To my lap-dog, er, VP post I will choose someone who fits the description perfectly - Wolfie´s dog.
Mango will get the post as governor of Iraq. Put her on TV 24/7, and the baddies will be dazed into complacency.
Tireur has had a job where he har learnt a whole lot about people. With that in mind, I will fix him the job as senior editor of "International Journal of Sociology and Anthropology". Alas, that will not fill all of his time, so he will get another high-paid job to fill out the time. Speaking from a position of power seems to come natural to him, so he gets the nod as US. ambassador to North Korea.
If you believe that I am dead serious in the above text, well, then I have this bridge to sell to you.
Have a nice time!

Array May I ask you to kindly remove that post? The entire reason I started this thread was to get away from serious political debate and the heated insults that inevitably come with it. -

Array Your request is noted, and declined.
A twit, whether it is on this board, or running a country is still a twit.
I think both our constitutions still allow freedom of opinion1 (Though lately I am starting to quesiton that!)
Best regards,

Array I do not believe it yet physically possible to hinder the freedom of opinion anywhere, but the freedom of speech is still certainly upheld. However, I am asking you, as a favor, to please redirect that opinion (and freedom of speech) to any one of the myriad other threads on this board where the political discussion (and fifth-grade insults) runs rampant. As I already said, I was attempting to keep just one thread where the atmosphere is a bit lighter. -

Can I plead for clemency? Maybe the job of park ranger in Death Valley? Dogcatcher in the Aleutians? Ambassador to Pitcairn Island? Similar Threads -
