The color of corroding lames...

Does anyone know why lames turn a green color from the sweat? Shouldnt the rust create a brown color on these steel threads?

Green usually indicates that the lame threads are copper, not steel. What is the manufacture of your lame?

Or at least has some copper in it. If I remember correctly, there are some salts of iron that are green too. (Iron chloride maybe? If that is the case it might come from the chloride ions in sweat)
