Well, he thought, there's worse things I could have been hanging onto.

He sat down on the bed again, leaned back and propped himself on an elbow. "Sorry, but like I said, I couldn't exactly see. And why do you have to threaten me by disappearing? I told you I liked you; I don't want to upset you. Couldn't you give me more of a chance?"

"Alright," said the sprite cautiously, "I'll give you more of a chance." She looked at him a moment, this delicious human male on her bed, then shook her head. "We should get back to the table. It's simply not safe to be sitting here like this." Bianca quirked a perfect blonde eyebrow at Dave, waiting for him to make the first move.

That move, however, was to simply move his elbow so that he flopped down on the bed on his back, legs hanging over the edge. "Yeah, we should. But those seats were logs. And this is a very comfortable bed."

Bianca managed a deep breath, as though she wanted to say, or do, something but thought better of it. Then, she began to rise. "Yes, it is. But suit yourself. I'm going back."

Not many people knew that Sprites could hear far better then humans can. Obviously Nathan didn't either. Belladonna had been able to hear every bit of the conversation going on in Bianca's room. She followed Nathan a moment or two after he got up and barged into the room. When he turned around, he was face to face with a very angry looking Belladonna.

"I thought you were small." He stated, a little confused.

"When I wish to be." She replied, then suddenly, she shoved him back against the wall.

"If you ever disrespect her or anyone I care for again, so help me I will lead you into the pit of despair and leave you there to rot." She hissed quietly. "What's the pit you ask? Too put it simply, despair is the understatement of the century."

    "I . ." Nathan tried to protest.

"Don't! test me on this." She stated, her face two inches from his, and her finger only an inch away.

She then turned on her heel, nearly hitting him in the face with her long hair and went back to wait for Bianca and Dave to finish so they could be on their way.

"Bah," Dave pronounced, then sat up. "What is the food, anyway?"

"It could be you, if you aren't careful." Bianca grinned at him darkly, big blue eyes raking over his body as he sat there. Here comes that passion again... She took a deep breath again, willing herself calm. "The food is whatever Bella makes. I'm not quite sure what it is, just that it taste so good."

Bianca and Dave exited the bedroom, back into the small kitchen, just in time to see two small, bony, bespectacled men in black pants, collared white shirts, and strange orange-red-ish ties enter.

"Ah, right on time," Bella noted approvingly.

"Were you guys brought here too?" Nate inquired.

"No, we're just kind of everywhere. We're the censors, but we're on time this time - we were late for the last engagement, you see, and as a result missed some drastic public displays of affection. Anyway, this time we're just in time to censor the dinner because it would otherwise be very boring."

Hunger satisfied, Kamry sat back with a sigh. Maybe something had been put in the food, but right now she felt content...and almost happy. Such a difference from before the meal, when she had felt irritated and gloomy. Why was she here, anyway? She had a good life. Camping gave her adventure and she was quite happy with her family and friends. There was no need for an out-of-this-world adventure.

With a disturbing floating feeling, she reached out to pick up her cup. She just barely managed to bring it to her lips before her hand went limp and the cup tumbled down to the floor. With great effort, she turned her head to Nathan to see if he was having any of the same troubles she was.

    "Bianca," came Belladonna's warning tone.

The blue eyed sprite cast a surprised glare at her companion. "What?" She looked to the human girl, who did not look that well all of a sudden. "I didn't do anything to her!" Bianca insisted. Belladonna cleared her throat, raising an eyebrow. "I didn't!"

Nathan was still very upset at Dave, sitting in the same room as Kamry but not saying a word. He was so busy brooding over his situation that he shrugged off the drowsy, dizzy feeling that tugged at the back of his mind. A few moments later it came flooding on with such force that Nathan shut his eyes tight from the pain. A moan escaped his lips as the dizziness and pain increased. He tried to fight it off, opening his eyes he looked over at Kamry and discovered that she too was affected by whatever it was, but it seemed that that she was not in nearly as much agony as he.

He dropped to his knees from where he sat, still holding his head in his hands. "Kamry . . ." he managed, "What's going on?"

    Where's Your Other Half?

"Woah..." Dave's eyes went wide, even as he ignored Kamry and Nate. "I just got a really weird feeling that I have to be back in that clearing, right now." He jumped up from his seat, just as the other two humans recovered as fast as they'd been stricken. As he scrambled up and out through the hole, back into the forest, the pixies raced after him.

"No! Get back in! It might not be safe yet!" Bella screeched at him, now tugging at his wrist as he marched along.

"Dude, back off, lady. I don't know why, I just need to be there." Bianca leapt onto his back; Nathan and Kamry jogged briefly to catch up.

"Okay, this is far too weird," Nate said. "We just about die there for a few seconds, you get a weird urge, and we're better all of a sudden."

"Weird? I don't see what's so weird about it." Kamry wasn't smiling, despite the sarcasm. "There's three of us walking through some dangerous forest in a random-a** world, wearing our pajamas still under the clothes we just got from two fairies, one of which is acting as his backpack." She pointed at Dave, in cased Nathan had missed it.

"Am not!" Bianca shot back, clambering awkwardly up to sit astride Dave's shoulders, proving her point. Dave didn't seem to mind, or perhaps not notice. For the next several minutes of speed-walking in a tense silence, she held onto his hair and steered him by turning his head, until they suddenly arrived in the clearing.

All five stopped abruptly at the site of the person on the other side of the creek.

Dave, still in his blue mesh shorts, calmly eyed the group of five. "So," he began. "I wake up here in the grass about half an hour ago, and decide not to leave the clearing because I can hear some growling thing in the woods. And now I'm greeted by a guy and a girl I've never met, along with a fairy, and myself, but dressed, and wearing another fairy. What's your story?"

Dave ignored the question in favor of one of his own. "Where do you go to school?" he asked, walking casually forward.

"Michigan Tech. You major in - "

    "Mechanical Engineering."

    "Hmm. I'm EngrMech."

    "Anger Mek?" Kamry repeated.

"Engineering Mechanics," the new Dave clarified. Then again to the other Dave - "So you - "

    "Got tails."

    "Yep."

"I always knew I liked that many-universe idea."

    "Was right spiffy."

    "Damned straight."

"So does it get weirder than this?"

"Yeah," the first Dave explained, "but let's save that for a bit. I always did wish I had more of me to go around."

"Yeah," the new Dave had moved forward, and now the two circled slowly, inspecting each other and ignoring Bianca on top, who seemed quite content to have two Daves to watch. "Wouldn't have had to turn down - "

"Ali for Kristen, yeah. That always was a pity."

    "Yep."

"So, we'll need some kind of different names, I'd say."

"1 and 2, since you apparently arrived right before me?"

"You ever read that book with the chick named 6?"

Dave nodded. "That was a cool name. I get to be 7, then."

    "Deal."

    "Nice to meet you, 6."

    "Likewise, 7."

    Another rustling sounded behind them.

"Ew!! Yuck! Where the hell am I?" A female voice screamed, as a figure stumbled gracefully out of the bushes. The figure was clothed in almost-sheer, expensive black pajamas, the top of which was cut very low and displayed admirable charms. The girl stopped brushing leaves and sticks off herself and raised her hands to brush back long curled blond hair away from a beautiful face, obviously accented with make-up.

"Dude," Kamry said flatly. "That is so not me."

7 looked at 6. "Dude. She's hot, but she's already b****ing. Definitely not."

"The other one's a lot cooler," 6 reassured him.

"I am not b****ing!" The new arrival said loudly.

"Yeah, ya are," Kamry said. "So...no hiking and books for you, I would assume?"

"Duuuhhh...What with all the cheerleading practices I barely have time to pull a perfect GPA," the new girl said.

"Oh, good. At least you're not stupid," Kamry said thankfully. "Got a nickname?"

    "Kammie. You?"

    "Nope. Always hated that."

    "Oh well."

Kamry studied her twin. "Interesting outfit you have there. Expecting someone?"

Kammie had the decency to blush. "Yes, actually."

"Yeah, definitely the one without the nickname," 7 concluded.

"Name's Kamry," 6 informed him. "She's still got an attitude."

    "I like it..."

"I see I've been landed in a world where beauty doesn't speak for itself," Kammie sighed. Bianca gave her an understanding nod. "Oh goodie...."

"I can't believe I would have turned out this rude if I had gone out for cheerleading," Kamry said.

"And quit piano. At age seven."

"You have any idea how many scholarships I got with my music skills?"

"You have any idea how many scholarships I got with cheerleading?"

"Well at least I was good enough for that...." Kamry shook her head incredulously. "This is amazing..."

Bianca launched herself from the first Dave's shoulders, sommersaulting in the air before landing on her feet. She put her hands on her hips & surveyed the scene. "This is not good," she muttered, giving the new human girl a glare. She didn't like the first one, & the other one seemed worse. Then she looked at the two Daves. Not that she didn't mind seeing two of them, but she frowned nonetheless. "This was not supposed to happen." As an afterthought, she looked to the new Dave. "And I'm not a fairy." She turned her back to him & gestured over her shoulder. "See? No wings."

"Did you two call us?" Kamry asked. "Because maybe you just forgot to cancel the summons or something after we got here."
