"I do NOT want to have sex with him! That's the furthest thing from my mind. How coud anyone even believe such a thing? That's so...icky!" Bianca screwed up her face at the thought. "How dare he? Ugh! You human men are all the same." She crossed her arms over her chest & scowled her first real scowl at Dave. "And I thought you & I could get along so well...hrump!"

"Hey, hey...did I say I thought the same thing?" He had, but he sure wasn't about to say it, especially now. "Why can't you and I get along? I think I like you."

He figured it was probably the wrong part of him doing the thinking, in response to her obvious attraction, but he did like her. And...hell, who else was there to hang around with? She seemed the most fun so far.

"You think you like me?" Bianca repeated, as though the concept completely left her in the dark hole outside their home. "What is that supposed to mean?"

"Okay, I do like you," he clarified.

"I don't understand," Bianca returned. And why was he looking at her like that?

"You don't understand?" He had a tough time believing that. "Well...I like you. I do want you around; I like having you around. And I sure hate to see you sad."

Nathan heard Bianca’s voice rise from the other room. His attention perked up especially when he heard “I do not want to have sex with him!” At this Nathan stood up, wondering what in the world Dave was telling her. He walked over to the door and quietly listened as it seemed Dave explaining his feelings to Bianca. But he had heard his name being mentioned. He rushed into the other room as they kept talking.

“What the heck are you people saying?” he asked, astounded.

“I don’t want to talk to you!” Bianca insisted.

    "Please, leave," Dave asked simply.

"Dude, you mentioned my name. And the word 'sex' was nearby it. If it has anything to do with Bianca you're completely wrong."

"That's fine," Dave said impatiently, "now please, leave."

"Oh great, now it's 'fine'." he glanced at Bianca and back at Dave. "Don't make presumptions about me, Dave. You're a good guy and I don't feel like making enemies." He walked out, slamming the door behind him.

Dave rolled his eyes at the door. He'd sort that bit out later; Nate just had bad timing. He turned back to Bianca. "I'll sort that out later..."

"Sort what out? I really don't understand." Bianca sniffled. "You humans are so strange. If you want me around, I suppose I can be...around." She thrust out her bottom lip as she looked at Dave. "But if you upset me again, I can be gone...like this." With a snap of her fingers, she disappeared.

"Well, ****," Dave observed, looking around at nothing.

"Hardly nice words," said Bianca's disembodied voice. It came from the bed, where she had disappeared. "Is that how you talk to all the females you 'like'? Or am I special?"

"No," he said, moving toward the voice, "it's how I talk to nothing when the female I like disappears into thin air." He reached out to where the voice came from, his hand contacting something, that he hoped belonged to Bianca.

"Hey!" Bianca's voice exclaimed. "Watch it!" Dave felt a sudden smack on his arm.

"I'm trying," he kept a hold on whatever it was he had, so that he wouldn't lose her again, "but it's rather hard when you're invisible."

An exasperated sound came from the direction of Bianca's voice, then a snap. As quickly as she had disappeared, Bianca reappeared...with Dave's hand attached to her neck. "If you want me around," she said, chin up & eyes narrowed, "it would be wise not to choke me to death."
