| They have a team and are part of the Intercollegiate Fencing Conference of Southern California as a club. Here is their web site. http://www.studentgroups.ucla.edu/fencing/

| I did go to their website, but they don't have contact info for individuals. I'm sure I will join the fencing club after I go there. I wanted to know someone from the club that can show me around the neighborhood and become friends with I'm from San Francisco by the way ^^'

| Your right, my mistake. I'll see some of them at the next local tournament and at the PCC's and will get some contact info, then.

| I use to fence for UCLA just graduated a few months ago. If you're interested I can send you some contact info for the team captains in whatever weapon you're interested in. The Southern California Collegiate league has some pretty strong fencers with UCLA falling in the middle of the bunch.
The Head Coach is a C-Saber and a D-Foil fencer. The Epee Coach is a B-Epee fencer. The teams are moderately strong with the epee teams probably being the best in the group.
The Southern California league is a combination of NCAA and club schools (CS Fullerton, UCSD, UCI, UCLA, USC, Cal Tech, UCSB). Typically each year there's a few A's in each event except for saber. In fact germanguy here fences for USC. I'm gonna be going to the Boardwalk Open for epee. If you're there and have questions feel free to ask them. |

I think it's LAIFC but I'm not sure. It's located within 4-5 miles of the school with some really good coaches. Gagik Demirchian coaches there I believe. Very excellent epee coach and fencer. He use to teach Soren Thompson. |

| Hi, I'm from UCI. Welcome to SoCal.
Besides having a fencing team, UCLA is relatively near the Westside Fencing Center in Culver City. They have a web site you should check out (you'll have to Google it as I don't know the URL off the top of my head). Another place for lessons and fencing, though nothing like the equipment selection you enjoy up in the Bay Area at American Fencers Supply.
What weapon do you fence?

| Thanks guys. Contact info for some team members would be helpful, I really wish to know a few people before going there on my own and blindly wondering around the campus. I fence foil for my high school team, so, I'm not ranked ^^' I've been fencing for 3 years (but I don't fence at all off-season, so techinally, I fenced for a year and a half or so.)

| American Fencers Supply is a rip off >=O It doesn't have the nicest store either... It's so small and looks pretty torn down -_-'

Quite literally a hole in the wall! |

See a few more fencing supply stores before making any claims about nice-ness. I can also assure you that AFS has substantially more space than most fencing storefronts. Most especially, don't presume to imply that AFS is a rip off, period. Find a better price? Buy somewhere else. But fence in the Bay Area for a few more years before running down the flagship vendor in the region. They know their business, which is why they've been around as long as they have. |

| Dude, just try living in Orange County and finding an actual walk-in store with fencing equipment before you diss AFS, okay? (Not to diss Le Touche of Class.)

| That's why AFS stuff are expensive, they know they are the only walk in store around the area. @__@
Ok, for the true reason why I dislike them: My coach gave them a bunch of foils to fix, and it took them over three months to get them back to us because, another school gave them foils later and paid them more .__. so they fixed theirs first.
I was stuck with some crappy foils for a couple of matches there cuz of that X_X'

Helpful hint, then...learn to do your own armory. You won't always have an armorer at tournamnents; I don't go to all the collegiate ones and the armorer who IS there is primarily responsible for the boxes & reels. |

I have my own trio of weapons and I still end up taking a whole night before a tournament fixing 7-8 club weapons for other people The armorers that show up at the tournaments are normally swamped. I remember Greg once handing me a bag of body cords and a couple floor reels to give to the armorers Sam and the other guy (I forget his name) definately go beyond what any armorer would normally be willing to do at a tournament. |
