    Saber Lame Problem

I bought a brand new Uhlmann Saber Lame last week, and have used it only once for some practice bouting. I noticed today, however, that there are three metallic threads starting to noticeably show along the seam of the right sleeve.

Two of the threads are very short and open ended (i.e. one end of the thread is attached to the seam, while the other is left hanging). The third thread has both ends attached to the sleeve seam, but is slack in middle creating a noticeable loop.

What should I do? Should I be worried? This lame is brand-spankin' new, and I'm really going to be cheesed if its defective since I already had my name stenciled on it.

Could this be caused by one of your opp't's sabre that has a splinter sticking out that's snagging your lame'. Do you remember gettign hit in those spots?

If the threads are not caused by snaggy blades,
    1. Find out the return policy of the vendor.
    2. Write to Allstar - as if they'd care. It could be caused by the sewer missing a stitch...
    3. Trim off the short threads that are hanging.
    4. Push the loop one that's not hanging back in.
    5. Buy some of the silver thread for lame' repair from:

It works. i don't think you need this yet, but just keep this info on hand.

Thanks, PK. I don't remember getting hit on the arm, so I can't for the life of me understand how this happened. This is my first lame, so I was worried that if I snipped the threads off, it wouldn't pass muster at comp. I'll keep the link you provided in mind, just in case.
