Array The armorers like me. I'm one of the few who occasionally buy them a six-pack or so. Of the good stuff, too.
On the other hand, I have a bad feeling that none of my equipment will pass at Summer Nationals or at the PCCs.

Does getting paid to ref have any problems with NCAA eligibility? -

Array Most definitely. I guess it's possible to referee and not take the honorarium portion and stay within NCAA guidelines. You're only reimbursed for your expenses and paid a per diem. -

Array I would check that with an actual compliance officer rather than take any judgement you can get here. Refereeing is certainly not directly payment for doing well at your sport (or even for doing your sport). It's a significantly different skill (and for that matter not even a sport). Then again I could easily see the NCAA lumping all sport activity in the same sport into payment that makes one a professional. If true then I know quite a few NCAA athletes in my area that have lost their eligibility, at least technically. Lots of the local USFA events are reffed by (among other people) college fencers.

Array Cash under the table should be reported, but may often not be. -

Array Don't beleive everything you hear - that's why they WRITE down the rules! -B I most heartily agree with oiuyt:
Although the most dynamic areas tend to deal with recruitment, and academic certification stuff - This particular issue is probably been more consistent, so go ahead, and find a friendly compliance officer, and ask them - generally, this stuff tends to change quite a bit, so info' that is a couple years old is worthless.
It could definitely be worth the time! -

Array Of course the simplest solution is to not ref at all. No conflict there; problem solved. Similar Threads -
