Array where?? where can i get a list of all the recreational/lower level tournaments in my section for the entire year?? the USFA website seems only to have higher level competitions listed... -
The USFA website is a good way to start. Under "Internet Links" you'll find a link to a list of clubs and divisions. Or you can go straight to http://www.usfencing.org/clubs/.
From there it's just a matter of finding your section/division website, which should have a schedule listed somewhere. -

Array go to the section website. . . If you know the name of your section, you can do a google search to find it pretty easily. . . Homestarrunner forever!~!

Array Don't bother to check the SE Section site. It's basically a forum that has very little info. -

Array What I've done in the past is check the websites of each Division and each club. They often have their competition schedule posted. Note them all, and construct your own schedule.
It's a pain in the butt to re-construct a calendar by inference, but sometimes it's the only way. Often a club will announce a comp that doesn't make it into the Division schedule for weeks--if ever.
Oh, and by the way, you might offer to perform this service for the Section or Division; maybe that would be a start towards getting a more informative website. Also, if they know you are the keeper of the "official" section calendar, you find out about stuff first. Nothing is more frightening than ignorance in action. -

I going to repeat what has been already said. You list your location as WI, so I went to the USFA web site, looked for Wisconsin and got the web site. http://www.elknet.net/sabines/widiv.html
You can click on the schedule. I'm afraid you just missed the Beloit Open last weekend. In July they have the 4th Mego Invitational. You might check with the local division for more information. I hope you are able to find something. Because of the location, it appears, they list some Canadian Competitions. Donald Hollis Clinton, Jr. DHCJr@juno.com

Array I apologize, as I was going by what you had posted with which you should update. But the same suggestion applies whereever you live, if in the US.
If you are at the very bottom of the state, the Gulf Coast does not have a web site, but you could check the clubs on the USFA Web Site or here. The other 2 divisions do have web sites and do have local schedules. One you might be interested in would be the State Games being held in June. Donald Hollis Clinton, Jr. DHCJr@juno.com

Array Resources. Your best resource should be your coach. He should be in the loop of other groups and know where the events that fit your needs are. If there are no unrated or "lower level" events in your area maybe you should talk with your coach about setting one up.
Another aspect is your wilingnes to travel. for example we have a great event during the first weekend of June in Amarillo but you are a log ways off. http://www.hpfencing.com/open04.html
Another good resource are the fencers you know; ask them where they go and when. Net-working helps to find out about events.
I hope my comments help... good luck in your searches. -

Array thanks guys...the sunshine state games is within reach for me i suppose. amarillo is not, unfortunately since i'm a student with little money to spend. the thing is, no one else in my club competes and i'm kinda tired of fencing the same 3-4 people every time out so i will probably be stuck traveling alone to these events.
