| Jackets I am trying to decide between the Allstar 800N FIE Jacket, or the Leon Paul 800N FIE jacket (the Atlanta Range). What would you recommend? Does one brand allow more mobility than the other? Any input whatsoever would be appreciated. Oh, and how do these jackets fit? When I order one, what measurement should I use? Should I measure below my armpits with full lungs, empty lungs, or measure around my bust? (Yay for being a girl). Anyway, thanks for anything you guys can tell me. |

| They are both great jackets. I want to throw a third possibility into the mix. We have found that the Uhlmann FIE jacket fits the girls in the club better and the Allstar fits the guys better. We don't have any Leon Pauls....yet.
Years ago Prieur ruled as king but it's hard to get them lately.

| i have both the uhlmann world cup and olypia jackets. they are both very good, and very comfortable. i find that i liked the olympia better though, as it is all stretch, it allows for better movement, it also forms to my body a little better than the worldcup. i do not have any expierence with leon paul, but would assume that they are just as good as uhlmann/allstar. |

| I use an Allstar 800 N jacket, and think it's great. Uhlmann has been mentioned -- used to own one of them, also good, but I don't like the clips they put on their jackets. Never tried a Leon Paul, so can't say there.
If you do go with Allstar, they have a sizing chart online that might help you. I'd link to it, but I'm too lazy to find it right now ... a search through fencing.net or with google should turn it up. |

| Allstar sizing chart. Here goes: http://www.allstar.de/index.php?name...d=36&menu=2000
I have an Allstar "Athen" 800 N myself and I like it a lot. However I think the sizes are a bit small-ish so you might want to get one size bigger than you measure. Just a tip.
Or you could get the "Startex" (stretch) jacket for a snug and comfortable fit.
Good luck, and sorry I can't help you out on the other brands.

| Both my girlfriend and I have the LP 350N jackets and they fit perfectly. I haven't worn one I liked better yet. I haven't tried on the 800N, I'm assuming they would have a similar fit. |

| I tried on one of these at the NAC's in Arlington. I haven't bought one yet, but I will. It was the most comfortable jacket I have ever seen or felt. http://www.sword-masters.com/catalog...&products_id=7
It's the Estoc FIE 800 Newton. I haven't seen a lot of people wearing them.

| I decided to go for the Leon Paul, FIE (Atlanta Range).
For those that are interested, it's very nice. You can move well in it. I like it. |
