| I'm definitely a dog person... although my dog has meowed before (no joke).

I'm a dog-and-cat person (we've got one of each right now). I've owned a rabbit and a gerbil; I get a kick out of guinnea pigs, although I've never had one of my own. My wife loves our pets, but she probably would survive just fine without an extra animal at all.
Fish aren't pets -- they're a hobby.

| Yes, but it was the way she did it.
"Meow... oops ah, I mean woof." (just kidding)
Actually, my dog is a Chihuahua and my mother takes her everywhere in a big black purse. No one seems to notice, but unfortunately my dog has a tendency to bark in places where it says, "no pets allowed". My mother has, on more than one occasion, coughed after my dog has barked. Some people have even turned to look at my mother and have said, "My dear you really should have that looked at." (no joke)

| I'm more of a cat person. Dogs are cool, but the sound of a dog licking him/her self annoys the crap out of me.

| I'd love cats if they didn't make my family members' eyes swell shut, dogs if they didn't make some of my friends nervous, guinea pigs if they'd agree not to pee on my arm......
I knew someone with a flying squirrel for a pet. Now that would be cool.

That said, I voted dogs.
I would like some more options though dang-nabbit, I've had as pets:
-Dogs (Maltese-****zu, current pet and a Fox Terrier called Pete)
-Fish (Goldfish in general but some others, I've had around 11 of them all up)
-Chickens (had 5 or 6 of them)
-Morten Bay Bugs (2 of them)
-Crabs (4 of them)
-Duck (Only one duck, but the mighty Clubtick will reign supreme)
-Pidgeons (Never bought them but nursed injured ones back to good health)
-Sea gulls (Same as above)
Also housed 8 dogs for a while when a friend was staying with the family, one mother and her litter of seven. Granted it was only for a month or so but it sure as hell made an impression!
EDIT: Almost forgot the mouse I had. Cute little fella but he escaped his enclosure by climbing up a piece of wood that fell and made a bridge from the bottom of the enclosure to the top.
