| Used CD, DVD or tapes As a coach at a local non-profit club, we don't have the funding to buy all the best videos, tapes, and DVD's that are available. If you have used, discounted or old items such as these please contact me. We would be interested in purchasing legal copies of items. info@hpfencing.com

| I'm not going to wade in and start the whole copyright/RIAA type argument here, but just realize that if you start getting "copies" of works that are currently for sale, then those people (Michael at Fencing Footage for example) won't have the capital to reinvest and get new footage.
If you are a non-profit and the $25 for a good DVD/Tape is that burdensome, then feel free to contact me or Michael to see what we can do for you. We may not be able to do anything, or we may be able to come to some sort of arrangement.
Just look at MTarascio's post about how the DVDs encouraged recruitment at his club. The students that he picked up, if only for a one-time beginner's class, more than made up for the money that was spent purchasing the DVDs. For clubs, these should be considered to be investments that pay off in a fairly short time in terms of recruitment alone.
This post probably warrants it's own thread in the general discussion area, but I wanted to toss the thoughts out right away since we all know that fencing has a very limited market size and those who are trying to make the sport more accessable via videos, news, etc. depend on all the sales we can make to continue developing more stuff.
Cheers,
Craig |

| just to second craig.... ...you should do everything possible to support the fencing community. these videos come from people who work really hard to put them out there. for little or no compensation.
we're in such a small community, we should reward those that that make major contributions of time and effort (like putting out videos or running websites). that way everyone benefits all around... |

Everyone please don't go and copy stuff.. The videos are not that expensive and in a way you are supporting fencing by buyng them. It would be nice to find them used sometime though! |

he said legal copies...
Is it illegal to sell second hand or preloved ?
Copies does not mean copied it means versions that were bought as originals and now the user no longer needs ..
I can't see why the ""illegal"" copies and copyright thing started - yes I know is a big issue but all he asked for was someone's preloved stuff..
Which means as well the original manufacturer/maker gets their commision on the sale and the product stays in cuirculation rather than adding to the disposable stuff and if it is good enough and peole in that club want their own copy they can (in theory) go and buy one new..
Sorry Just reading this and I wondered why the copyright big submission started to scare the pants off people... he was asking for "legal" copies (whcih means generally purchased as originals but no longer wanted)
I wouldn't mind second hand movies etc either in Australia... btu I guess I have to order new via the dealers....

| Thanks, does anyone have any videos (of coarse legal copies) that they would mind selling to a club that is just starting out. They will get well used and go to a good cause. |
