| Grounding sabre sockets Now I know when using foil 2 prong sockets on a sabre you have to ground it for it to work correctly, and Ive never encountered this problem as when I used 2 prong I would order sabre specific sockets. But I've made the switch to bayonet and I love it except the comparative complexity of the socket.
Running a wire from the screw on the side to the base of the blade grounds it, but this is an annoying use of time. My two questions are now:
1) Why is it not grounded automatically? It seems that the socket itself where connected to the blade should ground it. Perhaps this screw on the side isn't touching a different part of the socket where a connection needs to be made(in which case wouldn't it make sense to fix it so it's already grounded?)
and 2) Is there any way to ground it besides the wire? I have seen people use tape to ground their bayonet sockets, something about insulating...some part of it so that it isn't touching...something else..
Can anyone clarify?
Thanks
