Bayonet AND 2-prong weapons?

I'm primarily a foil fencer in a club where foil likes bayonet, but I'm starting to play with sabres as well. Simply to make my life difficult (I'm sure) the sabre fencers of our club prefer two-prong cords.

So, here's the question, mostly out of curiousity - What would happen if I tried putting both a bayonet a 2-prong socket on a sabre? Would this work? There aren't any wires to attach, it's all just a matter of contact, right? Would it be legal?

It would add weight / change the balance of the weapon some. What if you made an adapter for the cord, consisting of a bayonette socket attached to a two prong plug? It would take some spit, glue and prayer to hold it together I suppose.

Why not just stay two-prong on your sabre? That way no one would steal (or borrow) your stuff. Of course, then no one could lend you cords or weapons, either.

If you are moving the bayonet plug from a foil weapon, it would need to be grounded for the plug to work on a sabre otherwise you will get a constant white light. Usually consists on making a connection from the screw to the other metal part of the plug.

A better way is to get a Leon Paul Sabre connector. They work much better than trying to ground a Foil Connector. Changing a 2-prong Foil connector is childs play compared with the Leon Paul.
