| FIE helmet I fenced for the first time with my new BG FIE 16N helmet tonight. I found that it was kind of uncomfortable to fence in it with glasses. The padding around the face kept moving my glasses around. Does anyone know a good way to keep this from happening.

| Please... its called a mask. You can use contacts for it... or simply "season" your mask by wearing it with your glasses more often. New FIE masks are usually uncomfortable and take a while to season... at least in my experience.

| Masks can be ajusted. The sizes are generic. The method you will need to employ is to pull out the sides near where the sides start to come down. Be careful in this for two reasons. First, this will tend to shorten the mask based on the amount you have to pull out. Secondly be careful of the tang. You don't want to break it.
The tang may also be pushing your head in too far. You have to be very careful with this modification because you could break it. If you have someone experienced in your area, you might want to check with them. But be sure of them.
You could also adjust the pads. One at the forehead could put your glasses farther from the mesh and removing some of the side pads is also an option.

| I'm not sure if there's more that can be done than what Donald's put in.
I bought an FIE Uhlmann mask recently with the "washable removable padding". I cannot, for the life of me, get my glasses under it. I usually fence in contacts, so this isn't a problem. However, I sympathize. I never found a solution, besides to make darn sure I knew where my contacts were at all times, or fence without glasses (not a good thing for people like me).
I'd look at if there might be a way to alter the lay of the pads? |

| A knife and duct tape normally work. |

| I'd tend more toward athletic tape... mainly because it doesn't leave as nasty a residue as duct tape. But duct tape sure would hold... |

| I agree with Grey, you can try to adjust your mask a little and fence with it a bit more. When I got a new mask, it didn't feel as comfortable as my old one, but now I got used to it, it's great

| Thank y'all I've been fencing with my mask for the past week and it is behaving nicely now. Its not going out, getting drunk, and doing lord knows waht else until dawn. Also its not moving my glasses to much anymore and I have come to rather injoy it. Thanks to everyone who provided input and to correct my grammar.
