Array Vniti Blade Numbers I heard that there is a stamp on the Vniti blade that states weather its going to be a stiffer blade or a more flexible. Now I have heard the higher the number the more flexible, and the lower the number the stiffer it is. So, has anyone else heard about this as well? Array I own two Vniti Epee blades and neither of them have any sort of stiffness number. They have the usual date code and the Vniti stamp but that's all. -

Array I have three Vniti's and I love them. I requested that they all be as flexible as possible, and all three have an eight or nine cut into the tang. I have heard as well that this is an indication of their flexibility, but I do not know for sure. All I can say for sure is that the higher number would "seem" to indicate a more flexible blade but it could be a complete coincidence! Just another lost soul saved by the (hit) First Church of EPEE!

Array A little off topic, but I've had two Vniti's snap off right at the barrel when people have beat my blade. . . It's kind of pissing me off, because 75 dolar blades shouldn't do that!!!! Anyone else had this problem? Homestarrunner forever!~!

Array I am really surprised to here that! I am not sure what the problem is except maybe they were overtorqued when they were mounted with the tip. I have a Vniti's that have been going strong for well over a year with very hard use. I have never actually managed to break one. I also have a couple of friends how also train and compete pretty heavily that have never had one break that I know off. They main reason I buy them is that they seem very close to indestructible (for a fencing foil anyway) which is why I think they may have been damaged in some way to cause them to snap. Of course there are always blades that fall through the QC cracks. I would really think that yours is a very unusual occurrence. As a self appointed champion of Vniti blades I am really sorry that you had those problems. Maybe you could try one from a different vendor? Array I am in the same boat as CvilleFencer. The main reason why I buy them is because of their durability. I had fencers impale themselves on my blade and not stop moving forward and yet my blade has not formed a funky curve that cannot come out. I will vouch for their quality. But I am thinking that this is a fluke; just as CvilleFencer. I wish you better luck with them

Array I have four Vniti blades that I purchased 4 years ago. Not only are they very durable under heavy use, I've only rewired one blade since then. Of course, that may be due to my wiring talent, but I give two thumbs up for Vniti and plan on purchasing more.
Are they $75 now? I paid $55 for mine... "Since when does being a patriot in America mean shutting your mouth?"
