im just very dissapointed, i thought i was having a little serious discussion with serious people about serious things, and i got a bunch of teenagers that still have their fingers up their noses, a paranoid that thinks everyone wants his skinny legs, several people who fight continuously about whose the better author, and nonsensical stuff.
so, i asked craig if my stuff could be deleted from the board.

yes but just like the rest, you had to loudly proclaim to as large an audience as possible that you were going to leave.
i haven't been here long, but i've noticed a fondness among most posters for hearing their own voices. I'm sure this isn't specific to this community. It's what happens on discussion boards. And most often, the people that complain about that sort of thing are far from the least of the offenders.
why start a new topic, instead of simply replying to the offending posts? I haven't got a clue who the f*** you're talking about, but I wasted my time reading this because I thought it might be something new about something relevant. How does that make you better than the people you're railing about? What's the point of this post, posted as it is entirely out of context?
if you're so offended, go ahead and leave, and even feel free to tell the people who have so alienated you... but that's what discussion boards are; they're people who really like to discuss, for the sake of discussing. And the rest of us are here to ***** for the sake of *****ing, by all appearances. This is healthy human discourse, and this is probably as good as it gets.
i have no idea how many members there are on this board, but i know most of them hardly ever post. And that's the way it works universally. The only people who take the time to obsessively reply to everything are the ones who, well... have nothing better to do. Stop having unrealistic expectations and you won't be disappointed so often. And whining about whining won't really get you very far in the eyes of the community.
Emfuser's right; what the hell else is there to talk about anyway? if you want reasoned, measured, serious discussion of relevant points, you're gonna have to go with a book. At least those get edited.

there were two different groups described by the same word-- "most"--
by "most posters" i meant, most people who post.
by "most members", i meant most people who are members.
clearer?

i think by actually posting a response to this whole waste of time, i was pretty unambiguously affirming that i really just like to hear myself talk.
