    Blade Pistol Grips

Has anyone else noticed a change in the Italian Visconti grips made by Blade? For the past year, I've noticed that they've gotten consistently thinner and lighter, but today I received one that I can only describe as anorexic. It's got the length of a large Visconti, and the shape; but, it's thin at the bottom where the pinky goes, in the extention that goes past the wrist, and it weighs 25% less. What's up wit dat?

Let me guess, I'm the only fencer on this entire board that buys his pistol grips from Blade. What a crock...

I've bought Visconti grips from blade in the past, though they were of either Ulhmann or Allstart manufacture. I have no experience with any grips made by Blade itself. I haven't noticed any varience in the grips I purchased from them, but then again I bought a bunch of identical ones all at once when I switched my grip type. In short, sorry, but I have nothing helpful to contribute.

S'Okay, but that does help a little. I've noticed that the Allstar equipment is more consistent, too. It's also more expensive. Ah, well.

Wonder if anyone has any ideas. I have on medium visconti that I LOVE and I can't figure out who made it. The main odd thing about it is that the piece that sticks out toward the wrist bends out at the bottom where most just sort of stop. It sort of comes to a sharp point, pointing away from the wrist. The one I have is silver and really smooth, no texture for the thumb to sit on, no insulation. Mebbe somebody here has one too and knows where it came from. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">
