Was wondering if anyone here in the forum fenced at the Macfa champs this past sunday at Virginia Tech.

I was fencing Epée for UVa on C strip.

I fenced for Stevens in Foil on B strip. I had a fever and felt like crap all day. Oh well I won't use that for my poor performance sunday. Who was that skinny asian guy you guys had on foil B. I didn't see him when I fenced UVA at hopkins.

Oh yeah, his name is Lee, he's a good friend of mine. He wasn't at Hopkins.

What did you think about him? He was my biggest competitor until I switched to Epee. I've always had a hard time fencing him because he's so fast.

How long have you been fencing?

I actually felt very ****ty because I had the flu and a headache and fever and a bad cough, but I was rather content on how I did. I was surprised to see how good everyone was on the C strip. Some of these people I had lost 5-0 with at Hopkins.

Do most of your epeeists use french grips?

he was pretty good, but lost a lot of touches because he didn't push in far enough. I ended up beating him 5-1, but I'm pretty sure he ended up ranking higher than me. I was too depressed to go check the rankings myself. I think I ended up like 12/14th cuz I lost all my bouts 0-5 or 1-5. In my opinion at least that Lee guy is better than your A strip guy, the maybe half asian guy.

I'm actually a freshmen at Stevens, but I fenced 2 years in high school. I'm only starting to become more dedicated.

some of our epeeist do use the french cuz they want the extra reach. In foil however I think the only ppl that use the french are mostly novices who usually point the top up at the sky or head rather than on target area.
