Array How fencers spend the day at a tournament -
Interesting pie chart.
I was quite surprised in my last tournament how short bouts were. I did some timekeeping and was surprised that most bouts (foil) to five points ended in under a minute and a half.

In the business world, data like this would get one "skeward"! But it is representative of a fencer's typical tournament time. Within that 70% waiting around time, figure in bathroom time, eating time, checking out the scores time, checking out your opponents as they fence, checking out the directing of the referees and shameless flirting time.... I'm sure there's more!

Cheering time,

complianing to the DT that we are running late time.....,
Planning your assult on the world time,
and finally,
emtional crying time after you lose your DE. Theses are evil....VERY evil, someone rescue me pls! -

Oddly enough, I really don't spend a lot of time fixing my equipment at a tournament. Not to sound like a goody-two-shoes, but I prepare my both my main and backup weapons and body cords the day before.

I probably spend about 2 percent of my time urinating because I drink plenty of fluid so as not to dehydrate.

Array this was cute!
to make it even more gross, in the testing equipment area, we could sub-section other categories such as running to find another body cord, the guy resetting the box (3%), the three people at the table keeping score, the referee admonishing everyone (1%). That opens up a new topic: how many fencers does it take to keep score? what event? which weapon, how many years of experience, what rating, what vendors do they use ......so on -

Array Sorry, there is only one me. You, however, can feel free to change your name again if it is not getting you enough attention. I personally like "Lumberg" better. That was a funny movie. ps, you'll never meet girls in the bathroom, take it easy on the fluids.

Array latenight- I suppose that's true if you insist on going into the correct bathroom.... Pick at random, meet more people.

At my last tournament, I went to the loo about five times.

Array Let's not forget the 50% for checking out men's/women's behinds...

I only had to go twice at my last tournament. Very strange.
