Thats just how it is. Fencing is as much mastery of your opponent as it is of yourself. I heard Wes took Gold in epee, I feel really dumb for not going now. Oh Well, you'll right yourself one way or another, if fencing was easy everyone would do it.
Not bad on day two, sucks about day one though, oh well. Gotta start winning those div2 tournaments... Sometimes you have a ****ty day and thats all she wrote.
I hear you about ratings. I've beaten most of the Cs I've faced in a DE situation and I do well enough with Bs. It's just finding your way to the right tournament, as far as getting better locally, you're only as good as your competition. If you're top dog in your salle then you don't really get any better.
I am really sad I am missing the tournament this weekend, even though this isn't always the truth I feel like a div2 sand bagger, which I enjoy. I want to be fencing div1 but who doesn't.
I heard, it's funny because they're trained to believe that their school is the best one out there (which is not too far off base) and that if you're not from there you must be crap. A lot of times when they get beat by one of us "back alley" fencers they just get confused. Like in their head they're saying "sniffel...but Michael Marx said I would win...sniffel" All that said I really like some of those folks a lot and it's the best, consistant competition in Oregon. Besides I think I'll be fencing with them come July.
Wes and Brian, we'll see what happens. I look forward to fencing you at the state games.
Also, once I am in Portland for good I can come to Eugene a lot easier to fence at tournaments.
I love taking medals from those guys, they take it so hard.
I don't think I am going to be able to make it this weekend, much to my dismay. I am graduating and I really need this last weekend to catch up. I have a couple of those grips that I set aside for you, I think some of my club mates are going to be there, so they'll find their way to you.
