Pfft. This was a little anti-climactic, but Russia sold Alaska to the US for the money. The war was very expensive for them.

Hence the assignment. When I am done, I should be able to explain its significance in Alaskan history.

I am studying the Crimean War.
It came up in a book I am reading and it is relevant to Alaskan history.
(This is kinda how my home-schooling is going. I see something, want to know more about it, research it.)

I have not fenced in a while, no. But I have been keeping up with the yoga and some short bike rides.

Mostly... the nights were not so good to me. I have been messing about with my computer. In installed Slackware, listening to the purist in me, but it was just too...fat. Yeah, I can strip down the packages, but after an hour+ of de-selecting things, I was like, I am doing this - why? So, I installed Zenwalk. I like it a lot, but... I started feeling a little guilty for abandoning Mint. I don't know what I am going to do.
