Thanks. I still think it would be helpful seeing old rep though. Ah, should of guessed by the join dates - sorry. The profile/post keeping makes sense I have no clue as to why I didn't think of that. I wasn't worried I was just curious. I was looking at some long dormant pages and thats what brought that on. It would be entertaining to see the competition if their was a leaderboard of sorts up, wouldn't it be?
At present there is no way to see old rep. I suppose Craig could extend this but I am also sure that he's chosen the current set up for good reasons. Why are you worried about what happens to old users? The reason that they don't get deleted is that people could threoretically come back to the site after a hiatus of a long period - it happens all the time. Additionally you need to be able to keep the user account so that you know who made posts. If you delete the account how are you going to know who made the post? I was no where near the first member of Fnet... Craig would be the first (he created the original site so it was also his idea) and the board has been through a couple of iterations of changes. If you want to know who has made the post contribution or rep points look at the member list and sort accordingly!
I was thinking about a few things... Is there any way you can see old rep..even after it "expires"? Do users who haven't been active for a period of time get deleted? Why or why not? Who was the first member of fnet (besides you and and craig of course)? Who had the idea for fnet? Who on fnet has the largest post count? or rep points? I am a curious person. Sorry if I am a bother.
