Good Lord, I dropped in to mention a book to Rick only to discover people talking about me. Not sure what to think about that.

Anyways, Rick, if you haven't seen it I'd highly recommend taking a look at "The Elusive Fan" [Rein, Kotler, Sheilds). Good information for anyone interested in the marketing of sport and sport products. It does a great job of applying marketing/consumer behavior concepts to the world of sport.

It also seems to me that most of the people who are supporting the Hurley slate don't seem to have much idea of how things work.

Mr. Epee , of course, likes to rattle people's cages.

I thought about posting a debate topic for Veteran fencing, but didn't get around to it. Kalle I know is very aware of veteran fencing and very respectful of it--she asked me to serve on the Tournament Task Force as a representative veteran and she took veteran fencing topics very seriously when they were raised. Jerry Benson was on the same task force, as was Brad (who is a friend, as is Greg), and I know that Brad and Greg take veteran fencing seriously. So does Mark Stasinos, whom I have talked with a few times. And Sharol Pestotnik, of course, is a veteran fencer, a World team teammate, and a friend.
