I can safely say I am out of my Reno funk. I am acquiring new skills and putting them to use more often and not always falling back to my panic responses. I think I am fencing calmer and I hope to bring that to every tournament. I really wish there was a chill pill that could razor focus the adrenaline for when I need it and not have that sloppy fear fencing get me messed up in the pools...especially with people I am expected to defeat.
I like the idea of having a variety of options

Was humbled by the experience and realize I need to step up my game. I also need to stop fencing underestimating myself and do the actions I have been taught..but clearly are not confident in. I fence better when I have a goal in mind and have to learn not to space out on the strip.

I am really quite pleased with the growth of my current clubs epee program. Today's class had 10 people even with two regulars out for the day. It was just great to share the weapon with others either culled from their foil or saber classes or just new to the sport. It was also nice to have some women for a change.
I had to work hard to stay calm and be patient. It is hard to keep that raging adrenaline at bay to do your bidding when you want it. I am much more successful when calm

You would think that with this heading that I had no friends. Indeed I have plenty but rare female friends...but thanks to fencing I have a whole cadre of vet women fencers of all ages and weapons whom I cherish.
The icing on this cake was being asked to join a Vet team for Summer Nationals. Unlike my prom where the guy actually said to me that since 2 other girls said no to him, would I go with him. I said "yes" of course but hated that I was a third choice for anyone!! So when this

I am newly invigorated for the weeks ahead. I had an amazing day of open bouting where I actually had a chance to practice tasks from a prior lesson and score touches with a new move. Granted, not all the time but that is what practice is for.
Then later that same day at lesson, learned an even cooler new move to make me unstoppable!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA (evil scientist laugh)...should I perfect it of course (the move, not the laugh). But somehow, actually learning to do this and knowing I am
