- Grew up in Seattle area, went to Univ. of Wash. Rowed for 5 years. Graduated as ME in '73. Worked in anti-submarine warfare during 70s and 80s. Fenced competitively in late 70s and early 80s. Grad school (Oregon State, MSME) '80, 81. Adult son.
