you are so on point with your comment on mixed/events versus women only events,,,,we have that situation in the midwest where my daughter is who the younger guys want to fence, along with a few of the more insecure older men,,,,,,,

I got the feeling of the competitiveness from their website. I never even been to a competition outside of class tournaments. Definitely seems very professional. I'd probably need to get some equipment so I can participate in the electric bouting. I definitely would need to focus on the training if I were going to even think about going to a competition.

Sounds good to me. I checked out their website before I came back to Philly and the skills assessment thing kinda threw me off cuz I'm a beginner. I've had about a year of fencing practice in total and if they're going off of that then I might as well try something else. But hey if they'll let me join as an adult member and do the bouting then I gotta stop by. Thanks for letting me know TBean.

On Sat., I tried to clean up my old place, so I can sell it soon on. Then took a lesson from Mark.

On Sunday I went to that small local tournament in central jersey. I was there alone and two hours early. So one of parents asks me which high school do I fence for and they were trying to introduce me to their kids. Imaging the shock on their face when I told them I am actually over 30. Even funnier, later a teenage girl (16~17) told me I fence very elegantly. I reply "thanks... you should see how Graham Wicas fences."

This is true. Other people could say the same things he does to me and it would not make me smile. I mean, yeah, what some can say in good humour, would be ... not funny from others. There have been some specific examples on this very forum, but I digress.
Had I asked if you had been to Ireland before? Had you said? RoI, right? Not Northern Ireland, Belfast, etc? Although, they have calmed down there a lot.

I get up 5AM to go to work, come home around 7PM, so I don't really have the time or energy to train. At least Graham have time to go to PdT for some bouting. Doesn't matter, we'll have fun at SN. Still looking forward to get my tatoo (only if I win Div1A). While in Ireland, buy me something (a celtic cross, or something).
