I've been fencing more than this blog shows, but not nearly as much as I would like. Work, dog illnesses, my illnesses, etc., have really not helped the effort.
NH, AL, Issey (!!!! yay !!!!!), and I. SW sat on the sidelines and was browbeaten thoroughly into agreeing to start coming regularly--he'd been fencing epee!
I fenced ok. Feel for tempo and the physical ability to claim tempo sucked... well, what did I expect?
Took a quick lesson from Alex.
1. M attacks. S: parry riposte.
2. M invites. S: attack
3. M extends. S: stop cut. M attacks. S: parry riposte
4. M invites. S prepares w/extension. M either cuts in or parries. S: finish attack directly or with disengage.
Note: these are all done with dynamic footwork--i.e., M leads, S follows, and at some point M gives the cue for the action.
