Drill and leg work mostly

Will, Jessi, and Mike went to the local tournament Sunday; Jessi was fencing left-handed because of the way Frederick bashed her hand, but she still almost beat Will in the 8, and Mike took Will out in the gold medal bout, so tonight they were all doing their best to beat one another. Jessi beat Will by one touch with Ahren refereeing, and the two of them were hilarious afterwards, Will asserting that he won when it mattered and Jessi pointing out that she did it left-handed.
I'm not messing with what works right now; I watched Pozdniakov vs. Frossine while balancing on the bosu ball. qatet drilled with me - straight attacks and parry-riposte mostly - and then I fenced Bridget, who is becoming very sound indeed and finally has some fight in her. In fact, I think she's going to be a solid fencer soon. I fenced Mike and Tom. One of the adult intermediates, Eric, was trying out sabre tonight and several of us bouted him. I did fence Will a little bit - he's back to leaping and spanking a little bit - and then took a lesson with Ahren. The focus was on gaining step as a finish rather than as a preparation. If the opponent is expanding the distance running away, gaining-step-lunge is an option, even as lost tempo, because it allows you to pick your target.
