. . . are posted. V60WS is 11:30-12:30 on March 18, and we have TEN people preregistered. If everyone shows, that means two pools. Astounding. 23 for the open the next day (Monday, 3/19) (12:00-1:00)

I am very unhappy about fencing in 2 pools of 5. In my limited experience, pools of 5 have not been good for seeding the DEs.

Better than using a random number generator to determine the seeding order of the DE... but sometimes not by much.

I was in an event of 3 once. They decided to just go directly to DEs, based upon ratings.

Yeah, I've been in quite a few events of three, especially in the early part of my career when there weren't any other women sabre fencers. I still remember one of those events fondly. But I'd rather not fence pools of three or four any more.
