More later, but 3 and 2 in pool, seeded 14th, Rosamilia 1st DE, won that. Faizah Muhammad for 2nd DE, had her down 8-6 at the break but I slipped, did a split, and pulled a hamstring, so she beat me about 15-9. Gold medal bout between Alexis Jemal and Dagmara Wozniak was excellent. Daga won something like 15-12? She has a really fine stop-hit.

A good last outing before I have to go to New Zealand.

Sam Roberts also slipped and really hurt her knee. I saw a couple other slips, too. The floor seemed fine but perhaps there were some grease spots.

Refereeing in pool, as often happens at these events, was a bored MS fencer who saw a good percentage of the touches correctly but made up what he didn't see according to who should have gotten it. My pool referee had one iPod bud in his ear and it was clearly playing loudly, judging by the way he was bopping around. However, I had a lot of fun and fenced well.

Oh THAT was you! At last. Now I can put a face to the name. Rosamilia has a hard time with me, for some reason. You did a nice job of reffing that, but I would think so, because I won, wouldn't I?

I will not mention the name of the young gentleman with the iPod, whom I also know, and who was really the one I was talking about. Sorry to tar you with the same brush--I apologize.

Did you fence the MS? How did you do?

Yep, thats me. I have to say, you handled her very nicely. I fenced her at practice on Friday and she gave me a hard time (I think the score was something like 15-12).

I noticed he had his ipod on too. To men it looks unprofessional, but to each his own I guess.

I went 3-3 in pool (beat Konate Primus but lost to 2 weaker fencers). I got unlucky and drew James Williams because he lost one of his pool bouts. Final score was 15-8. Not too bad considering. I woke up a bit in the second half. Just need to learn to keep up the level of focus throughout the bout.

Keeping the level of focus is what it's all about, isn't it? Sounds like you had a good tournament. Good score in the DE.

I've seen Rosamilia in action and I know she's good--but her game right now works much better against attackers than against someone like me. She will undoubtedly eventually figure out how to beat me
