I hightailed it over to the health club to work out with the trainer. I'm feeling stronger and a little more stable physically even though we haven't connected as often as I want. I was a little stiff, though, so I did ten minutes on the treadmill and stretched a little before our appointment. It was a pretty tough workout, and what's pathetic is that it was all low weights high reps and I'm groaning like a creaky door part way through, even though it's clearly tiny weights. Grrrrr. I feel like a bag of suet.

He says he's going to write up a workout for me to do in between our twice weekly workouts.

I know exactly how you feel. Trying to build back my base conditioning after about 6 months of natural disasters that have kept me from training regularly....

    Ugh.

    Cheers, MR

At 48, I seem to be working very hard, only to be slowly losing ground. I'm hitting the gym every other day, and working hard in lessons, but I can feel it creeping up on me.

Some evenings, levering myself and my bag into the car to go to club, knowing I'm going to be stiff the next morning from the gym and 4-6 lessons that night, I begin to understand the attraction of staying home and catching up on "CSI: Miami".
