One of the kids from school, Kumar, has been nagging me to show up on Wednesday so he can fence me, so I managed to motivate myself to get out there - and Kumar didn't show up! However, there were plenty of people there to fence. I fenced DJ, Chris, MK, AL, Shannon, Shai, and Tal. Haven't fenced Tal for at least five years! He obviously hasn't been fencing much either, because he was a little stiff.

I had my lesson with AL tonight before I fenced, because Monday night he was booked solid and Mark was sick. I try not to take lessons on Wednesdays, because it's the night after Tuesday and I'm still depressed and grouchy from my weekly visit to my mother. We were working on doing small point disengages just to keep the arm and shoulder relaxed, and choosing when to step in and touch to the arm. That developed to a change-of-tempo disengage touch to the arm, lunge with disengage to the body, which Did Not Work because it was requiring me to do several new things at once. I don't do that. Mark was watching and suggested doing the first disengage and tempo change stationary and then advancing to the body, which sort of worked. It was definitely Wednesday, however.

I cleared out around 8:30.
