I'm still jet-lagged and achy, though this morning I'm starting to feel a little more human. Since I came back from France, I've walked a good bit every day, but I'm glad I have a self-imposed moratorium on fencing. The manic feeling of wanting to get to the club and fix everything I do wrong, RIGHT NOW, is beginning to fade, and I'm becoming a little more sane. By the time I make it back into the club, though, I'll have lost my distance and my timing.

Am attempting to watch what I eat. As usual, am appalled by what I actually do eat. Am grumpy about it.

Jessi1 got a 5th place medal in the Division III and took 10th in the Division II!!!!!!!!! She earned her D'08. I'm so proud of her. Kiersten did a competent job, too. I'll look to see Kiersten coming into her own in the next year or so.

I like that explanation.

I am very impressed with Jessi1 and Kiersten lately. It also makes me feel MUCH better now that I've seen their results about how tough they have been for me to fence at the club!

The author William Gibson has a character (Case Pollard) describe jet lag as like the plane travels faster than your soul and the lag while it catches up. So she envisions this tether reaching half way across the Atlantic from London to her soul.

Congrats on the D'08! (and on Kiersten's performance. I never put as much stock in rating as I do in personal achievement.)
