Epee night tonight. I arrived late and nobody else was there. Hung out, chatted with the coach, and eventually, MK2 showed up. I suited up.

MK2 likes to beat-fleche... a LOT. While it is annoying that that is 90% of what he does, it does give me an opportunity to practice dealing with that. This is good as it is one of my weaknesses. Getting to deal with it time, after time, after time, (after time, after time) helps me to break down the action, understand it, and develop a plan.

For the most part, I was successful, playing with derobements, angulations, distance management. I found that if I could get him to beat the forte of my blade with the foible of his, my point stayed on target and he would simply run onto it. Sometimes he got the best of me, but for the most part I was getting double or single lights in my favor when he fleched me.

The interesting thing about MK2 is that when he gets frustrated, he does the same thing but faster and harder. By the end of our bout he was just sticking his arm out and running at me, time after time, after... , uh, you get the idea. I pretty much dealt with that too.

Now the bad news. My foot is KILLING me! I only fenced for just under an hour total, and I can barely walk now. It was getting better but it is now getting worse. I thought I could fix this on my own. I cannot. Tomorrow I will seek medical assistance.
