If you love it so much then share it with someone else!
Wouldn’t it be great if you had another 100 people to fence with in your local area?
What are you waiting for? Do something about it, NOW!
In our fencing schools we have signs all over asking, who did you recruit today? We are always trying to start fencing clubs and programs with other groups but we are only one pebble in a beach of sand (even though some people think we are like kudzu,

Why fencing is not on television. No one is willing to support it, especially fencers themselves. I am doing this post in response to Mr. Ma question and requests at the JOs’. I realize that I didn’t give him all the information that he would need so hopefully this post will help.
Now one of the things that most people don’t realize about television is that it is a business (no really it is). A big one at that. First of all, every local television station is privately owned. They are n

Ok, so what would a history lesson be without a timeline, right? Well, here the dates that I believe mark significant dates in our organization. Now there will be many people that will email me over time that will add dates to this list and I will go through the volumes of diaries that I have to try and include exact dates where possible. If you have any questions you can PM me.

a. Blake meets Sensei Nakamura in Troy, NY at the Legends bar and begins his path into Seido .
This weekend was the beginning of the season for us. The Labor Day tournament went well. The prep for it was interesting this year. We spent the summer running boot camp this year although the attendees were small in size the true test about the amount of correction and depth of the items covered could come into play today.
Also this summer we spent the time to convert a portion of the front of the school into a concession area that would be used to sell items to help raise funds for nati

Maybe it was because of my beginnings in 1994 at my first NAC in SF and the upsets of that day or the NAC in Chicago with foil but I love the underdog. I loved watching the Giants win the Super Bowl with only a few seconds left in an impossible play under pressure. I knew that the WS fencers were the favorites for the team gold but still came away with an impressive bronze. However watching the WF defeat the #2 Polish team and then defeat the Hungarians to take the silver was priceless. I w

Well, Mike came by last night. He is on leave for a few weeks before he goes back to the academy. We talked about his 7 wk stint as a DI and we laughed about it a lot. He will be the new team captain next year as a junior and then after he graduates he will probably be going to MIT to get his masters.
It will be interesting to see what his duty assignment will be after his schooling. We have two other kids that will be looking at the academy as a possible college path. I really wish t

We have started with boot camp. It has been over 12 years since we had boot camp. The last ones were in NY with the original JEDI crew. It worked well once. It is time to see if we can do it again. We have four plus me in the camp and the first day has definitely kicked my ass.
The purpose of this camp is to fence everyday, to get in hundreds of bouts over the course of the summer. We are trying every combination and every idea that we can crack out over the next few weeks. From this

So, another summer nationals has come and gone. We have survived. Fencing has survived as well. There was an election and the NC slated was voted in and it was good that there was an election and both sides were able to say what they were going to do if elected. Now let’s see if the elected group will get the things done that they said they would. Don’t jump on them to fast they don’t take office over until after the Olympics right?
Our fencers did well, not great but good. For some of

Well, I have had to wait for about 10 years but finally the ship is sinking. The USOC is coming in to try and save as many passengers as possible. To think that after the shame that Cox and company put together last year for the USFA panel we would be looking at the USOC coming in for improper use of funds and mismanagement at the top levels of the USFA. I told Brandon (TN) that sometimes it is worth it to put money into the old used car because it is comfortable

Well, history in NC was made this weekend. There has finally been fencing in the state games. This was a great event. Robert Thomas a fencer in Wilmington was the point man on this, he and his volunteers did a great job. He contacted our organization early in the year to ask if we would be interested in participating. We talked with the group and decided to put some past history with NC behind us so that we could help promote the sport to the general public with all the other sports that w
