  1. s/p Stupidity f/u

Really haven't had much time for fencing since Cherry Blossom. Besides, the knee wasn't really up to much of anything although I did manage one lesson the week after CB. The knee didn't really feel great at that point, so not fencing was sort of a blessing. I only had one final last week and somehow managed an A on it. Made Dean's List again (3.87!). In the midst of all of the end of semester madness, I managed to get back to the Ortho for my "status-post stupidity" follow up. I probably came ...

  2. Off the crutches, but sore

I stopped using the crutches on Thursday, but the knee's still sore. There is some lateral bruising around the patella and along the lateral portion of the joint, but nothing too terrible. It was a little sore before my lesson, but still had a good lesson tonight. Worked on some real simple slow/relaxed touches to the wrist w/ parry-riposte, counter attacks, and ended with the usual retreating parry-riposte bit. My issue was with the brain-farts (as usual) when it came to longer runs of parry-riposte ...

  3. Cherry Blossom & Crutches...again

Once again, the Cherry Blossom was great! At least for the saber, things felt like they were running pretty quick. Props to the organizers for another good event. I took my knitting with me instead of schoolwork, so I was much more relaxed before the tournament than usual.

I did the mixed saber just for some anger management...and stupidity ensued. I felt really good. Legs felt fine. Started out actually getting touches on everyone. Unfortunately, that's when stupidity ensued. ...

  4. Getting the "Cranky" out

Headed up for the C-lite this morning with friends. As usual, got only 3 or 4 hours of sleep. Didn't get the chance to make coffee since I woke up late, but managed to grab a Mt. Dew on the way up. I've been really swamped with schoolwork this semester, and since I've been on this "Dean's List" obsession (made Dean's List last semester - obsessed with making a repeat performance), I had been bringing work to tournaments with me. Bad idea. I get super cranky when I do that. So rather than taking ...

  5. Taking my life into my own hands!

I wore my 'Steelers' socks to a tournament in Baltimore. And before anyone goes there, I don't care that they lost today. Why? Well...Penn State won...and I had my best finish ever at a tournament today. I tied for 3rd with a friend. I haven't seen her in over a year since I had so many health issues. The funny part about that is that we giggled through our bout and the ref looked like he wasn't real sure what to make of us. Anyways...

We had 8 people and thankfully ...
